Woodcreek Golf Club
Played On 03/24/2024Good layout, average otherwise.
Overall, I enjoy the layout of the course and challenges. The facilities are average at best, and the service is about the same low quality in the clubhouse.
Diamond Oaks Municipal Golf Course
Played On 05/29/2023Great course but needs some attention.
This course has been a favorite of mine for some time, but it seems to have slipped in it’s condition. The driving range was only partially available and the course itself was in average condition. My biggest qualm is the value for the money.
The Lincoln Hills Golf Club - Orchard Course
Played On 11/20/2022Under Construction
The greens and fairways were in great shape, the pace was wonderful and the overall course was rewarding to good shots. I was surprised to have paid $70 for a tee time when I found that several holes were under major construction, specifically the bunkers. My playing partner and I were hesitant to tee off on several holes due to construction workers walking all over the fairway and bunkers. Knowing that the course was being repaired would have significantly impacted my decision on playing at this price.
Antelope Greens Golf Course
Played On 07/06/2022The Perfect Training Course
Antelope Greens doesn’t have fancy facilities and the ideal cart paths and practice range; if that’s all you care about then don’t visit.
The greens are in great condition and it’s a fantastic course to tune your short game or teach a new player how to manage a course.
The staff is wonderful and the course is fun. Even for someone who plays at a fairly low handicap, it offers opportunities to hit new shots and challenge your short game off the tee.
Much more value for the money that you’ll get in a great many courses in Sacramento.
My 8 year old stated that this is the greatest course he’s ever seen. This doesn’t mean anything because he has terrible judgment and likes gymnastics more than golf. What it does say is that it’s inviting and enjoyable for all levels of experience and skill.
River Oaks Golf Club
Played On 06/05/2022One of the best spots around Sac
Love this track! While there are areas where more investment in the property would go a long way (cart paths, on course water dispensers, visual aids at tee boxes showing the hole) the things that are directly controllable (greens, friendliness of staff, fairways, bunkers, etx) are all great!
Diamond Oaks Municipal Golf Course
Played On 03/24/2022Love this track- would love to see improvements
Pace of play could have been greatly improved with a little marshaling, especially on the back nine. There were 4-5 groups stranded behind a foursome that were goofing around.
The fairways were in rough shape with lots of mud patches and poor grass conditions. On the positive side, the greens and areas surrounding were in good condition.
The staff was and always is wonderful- despite some course conditions. I will be back!
The Lincoln Hills Golf Club - Hills Course
Played On 04/12/2021Beautiful Layout. Average Maintenance
Love this course layout, it’s challenging, beautiful and requires you to hit the ball both ways. There are a lot of risk/reward holes and the practice facility is great.
My average rating is just based on the condition of the tee boxes and the greens. When booking, i wasn’t aware that the greens had been punched, so needless to say the conditions were in really poor. Also, the fairways and tee boxes were full of holes and dead spots.
Thanks to the staff for being friendly and fast!
Cordova Golf Course
Played On 01/16/2021Poorly Maintained
The golf course was well below average, the friendliness of the man working behind the counter was even worse.
I had to twist his arm to get a cart, he said that he didn’t have any even though there were five parked directly behind him.
Plenty of groups of five, very slow pace of play.
Won’t play here again.

River Oaks Golf Club
Played On 06/24/2019Gem of a Course
This course has a beautiful layout and is, with small exception, well maintained. The practice areas are solid and the staff is usually very kind.
My only challenge with my recent rounds is that I’ve experienced a odd number of what I am certain are golfers. Today I sat behind a group of 5 of these varmints as they spent 20-25 minutes on every hole. They must be under the assumption that since the cell service is non existent that they’re playing a round in the 1940s, where a 6 hour round was acceptable.
Most people would gripe about there not being a Marshall, but clearly they operate with minimum overhead and thus I benefit from cheaper prices.
My only suggestion to management would be to provide paintball guns or pellet rifles so that we can allow our evolutionary instincts to solve this issue.
Honestly, great job to the grounds staff and staff at the shop. I appreciate you guys!

Woodcreek Golf Club
Played On 03/12/2018Great course overall, needs maintenance.
I absolutely love the layout of the scores, it is challenging yet fair. I play here on a regular basis and was disappointed by the condition of the fairways and bunkers especially on my most recent around. Shots that were in the fairway were often sitting in holes and many areas around the green are in the low average condition makbig it difficult To Chip and pitch from due to holes and Sandy segments. I typically have nothing but great experiences with the staff and will continue to play this course, I just hope that the conditions in the Fairways especially can improve.
Woodcreek Golf Club
Played On 12/08/2015Fair, intriguing and a healthy challenge.
This course is a great round for all skill levels. Driveable par 4s, 220 yard par 3, tons of punishment and tons of reward. Each cart is equipped with a GolfLogix gps device that helps you navigate the course. It's a perfect balance of creativity and challenge. There is not a single cut and dry boring hole on this course. You must drive it well, avoid the tricky rough and avoid immense punitive waste areas. Enjoy the gorgeous greens and excellent facilities.
Whitney Oaks Golf Club
Played On 08/21/2015Beautiful Test of Golf
Don't let the short yardage fool you, this course can play as a championship venue. Every hole requires accurate lines and landing areas that are the difference between birdie and bogey. Accurate tee game is vital unless you know and strongly dislike the owners of the homes that line most fairways. The practice facility was disappointing, very worn and minimal targets to play to. The short game area is average at best.
I thoroughly enjoyed the round despite the greens being very recently aerated. GolfNow did not note that the greens had been aerated, I would not have played there if I had known that.
This is by far my favorite layout in the city and I plan to frequent it once the greens no longer require me to hit a bunker shot to have a chance of making a 10 footer.
We're glad that you enjoyed the layout and hope to see you a lot more now that the greens are fully healed! Thanks for taking the time to fill out a review!
Cherry Island Golf Course
Played On 08/14/2015Well thought out
This course is cleverly designed, challenging and fun. The staff is friendly and professional. The course and greens are overall in good/very good condition. The driving range is sub par at best, however the short game area is excellent. Highly recommend. I will be returning to play.
Bass Lake Golf Course
Played On 2/4/2013Hide you kids, hide your wife
This is a unique course. The rough, fairways and tee boxes have something in common, they are the same type of grass and are equally poor in their condition. The name base lake is also poor, it should be called "The Bass died because sewage water is the best we offer". My favorite part of this course is the 8th hole. Not only a nice swamp to hit over, but on the right side of the "fairway" is a convenient landfill to stash whatever you don't want In your cart. The worst part of this course is the greens. The lack of water and maintenance lends itself to not being able to execute an approach shot. Everyone in my group would land the ball on the green and watch it fly off to the rough behind it. The only shot of the day that landed on the green was when the ball was aimed 30 feet to the left of the green and bounced on. Even landing the ball ten feet in front of the green would land you in the rough behind it. Look at the bright side, the only ball that would leave a mark on the green would be a bowling ball dropped from space, and if it did, the only way to mend the mark would be a pitch fork and some super glue. I would rather play with Barbies, a vile full of influenza or a pinless hand grenade than play Bass Lake again.
Thank you for playing and sharing your review. We appreciate your feedback and hope to see you again.
