Grand Canyon University Golf Course
Played On 06/03/2020Great course fairways still need improvement
The course continues to improve as the fairways are thin
Wigwam Resort - Red Course
Played On 08/03/2019Will never play Wigwam again
I forgot we decided last summer we would never play this course again because of the poor conditions. You just can’t find any grass on the fairways. Wigwam charges high prices for these courses that are nothing more than low level Municipal courses. They think they are a big deal but they are not. Also need to put buckets of water on the range for towels. Our GPS was not set up to work on our cart. The cart attendants didn’t seem to know they had towels for hot golfers. Never going back.
Coyote Lakes Golf Club
Played On 05/10/2015Nice course-love the GPS
Only course I know of in Surprise that has GPS on the carts. Just drive up to your ball and you know the distance. The greens are a good speed being fairly fast. This is a true Arizona course as you must hit it pretty straight or you are in the desert. And with all the bushes it's very hard to find your ball. All in all its a good test of your game, especially if you would like to practice your side hill shots.
North Golf Course at Sun City
Played On 04/23/2015Don't waste your money
This course has very little grass anywhere. This includes the greens. I don't know why this is, perhaps lack of water? This makes playing it a bad experience.
Pebblebrook Golf Course
Played On 06/24/2014Nice mature course
This grass on this course is the nicest I have seen this summer. You can miss the fairways here and still be ok A quality layout that I plan on returning to.
Union Hills Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/19/2014Midwest feel
The course was punched when I was there and they were redoing the driving range. The fairways were pretty thin. Most fairways were tree lined with less rock giving it a Midwestern feel. A good course bit I prefer Pebblebrook which is similar.
Copper Canyon Golf Club - Vista/Lake Course
Played On 06/17/2014Overall a good adventure
Infrastructure such as building and practice facilities are first rate. The course itself is good but but not great. One downside is that it has the longest distances between tees I have ever seen. About 4 holes are like that. I am not dissing the course though as I am sure I will play it again.
Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia
Played On 06/09/2014Great course. Unique rough.
The main feature of this course is the rough. Go in the long grass and your ball is gone. It makes this course beautiful and a test. Cart gal great. Dollar beers priceless. Would I play it again? Ya you betcha!
Grandview Golf Course at Sun City West
Played On 05/24/2014A good challenge
Grandview is a quality course that challenges you in many ways. It has pretty good length, a lot of bunkers and dips and undulations that challenge your pitching and chipping abilities. The only failing I saw was the lack of sand depth and the crustiness of the bunkers. The practice bunkers seem much better to hit out of than the bunkers on the course. All in all an excellent course.
Verrado Golf Club - Founders Course
Played On 10/08/2013Great Course
I liked this course so much I wish I could pick up and move by it. The clubhouse is beautiful and the staff is friendly. They also have a great driving range complete with piped in music. Recommend highly. You will lose a lot of balls and find a lot but mostly you will enjoy great scenery along with a great course.
Raven Golf Club - Phoenix
Played On 10/08/2013First Rate
Everything about this course has been well thought out. Music on the driving range. Never seen that before. Lots of drinking water, a roving beverage cart etc. Everything is first rate and classy at the Raven. The course is beautiful and challenging. You will wish you could afford a house on the course but hey what a great place to visit for a round of golf.
Arizona Traditions Golf Club
Played On 9/16/2013Not one of the better courses in the area.
The clubhouse is nice and you expect better. It is mostly a short hitter position course even from the back tees with a lot of doglegs I hit through. Their are piles of dirt on the course making it look like it is unfinished. I got an unsolicited comment about it from a neighbor who called it a "cow pasture". That' too harsh but you get the idea.
We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the GPS on the carts. We hope to see you again soon!
