The Club Renaissance
Played On 03/16/2018Dry and hard pan conditions, no water in 3 weeks
We played a 4 on Friday morning at 11:00 AM. Before I booked I ask for conditions and they said fine. Got there and found the course had no water for 3 weeks and was dry, hard, brown 100%. If we knew this we would have played their sister course, Sandpiper. It is in great shape and the greens are second to none. Played it on Thursday. Normally Club Reno is awesome condition. I think they have the obligation tell us the when conditions are this bad...as does Golf Now.
Rosedale Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/05/2016Greens are terrible
Booked a foursome. Read the previous reviews then called the course. I noted some bad reviews and they said " no, the course is in good shape. We punched greens a couple weeks ago, But course is in good shape". Play the course with my foursome, the putting green was not real good. The course greens had at least 25% bald stops with no grass and full of holes from punching. Looks like a fungus got the best of the greens. Price was ok but the pro shop was not honest in answering my questions about course condition.
Apollo Beach Golf & Sea Club
Played On 09/10/2015Good layout but poor maintenance
The course has a great layout and is perfectly located. the staff is very friendly and helpful. The greens are in good shape however, the fairways are less than desirable with a few holes just terrible. The fairways are more than half weeds, not grass. If you don't mind moving the ball around the weeds and dirt you can enjoy better play. The greens are the best feature. Large and usually firm, but on the slow side. Landscape could use a lot of help. If it is not raining, this course get little or no watering.
The Club at River Wilderness
Played On 4/17/2013Nice layout but have seen it in much better condition. Need watering
I have played this course often and in the past found it to be in very good condition...which supports the high price to play it. However, currently the fairways are quite thin in places and lack "turf" to play on. The greens are not holding very well. All this indicates the course is not getting the watering it needs. Thin hard pan fairways are not fun to play on. This course has previously been in much better condition.
Hi Paulwilkins. Thanks for taking the time to review our property. I apologize the experience didn't live up to your expectations, nor ours. As you are likely aware, we have gotten very little rain over the last few weeks - and nothing can make the course as lush as we expect as mother nature. We are limited by our water supply, so do need to make decisions on the best strategy until we get some rain. We are in the midst of digging a well to aid in that.
Nonetheless, we appreciate you visited us and your kind words of our sister property, Sandpiper. We hope you'll come back to visit us again as the season proceeds (with more rain, ideally)
