Los Robles Greens Golf Course
Played On 10/22/2017Acomadating staff
Early tee time on Sunday, walked in, and found out from starter that their computer is DOWN. This guy was very proactive in getting every one out on the course as quickly as possible. Definitely worked very hard to please the customer! That is very much appreciated in my book.
Fairways were in good shape, (not great). Sand traps were REAL sand! Love that, and greens were very good.
The one knock on the sand traps is that they have these small little "plants" growing throughout every sand trap. It's like a hazard within a hazard... no fun. I hope that take them out some day.
Rio Hondo Golf Club
Played On 09/13/2017A Notch above your normal public golf course
Rio Hondo is an extremely nice golf course to play. I got a great deal for $39, but even at the normal rate of $52, I feel it's a good deal.
The fairways are very well manicured... you just don't see this on other public courses.
Greens were very soft and in great condition.
We were the first group out at 6:15am, and our round took about 3 hours 20 minutes.
Strawberry Farms Golf Club
Played On 05/16/2017Nice course, but very little information
We enjoyed the round. Pace-of-play was excellent. Fairways and greens were in very good shape. Staff was very friendly.
The biggest issue, (and it's a big one), is that there is NO information regarding each hole.
No GPS (which is no big deal to me)
No hole layout plaque on tee boxes (showing dog-legs, barranca's, sand traps, size of green, etc...
Only 150 yard stakes on each hole, (NO 100 or 200 yard stakes).
It would take me multiple rounds to gain course knowledge enough to really enjoy playing here... the problem with that is... it cost around $130 each person to play!!! WAY too expensive for this course, (in my opinion).
I had a GolfNow gift card, (Hot Deals ONLY), and was able to get a morning tee time... that's the only reason I played here. At this price, I doubt I'll be playing here again.
Whittier Narrows Golf Course - Pine/Mountain
Played On 07/17/2016Easy to get early tee time
Was able to get a Sunday morning tee time late in the week, (I think I booked it on Wednesday).
Very good course for the money. Fairways are not in great shape, but greens were fine.
Pace-of-play was above average, about 4.5 hours.
Restaurant prices are very high, but have decent food choices.
Palm at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
Played On 03/22/2014Good Course for average players
Very fun course to play. Challenging enough for a 15 to 20 handicap player like myself.
Greens in very good condition. Great scenery.
I teed off around 8am and finished in about 4.5 hours... good pace.
Marshall's are not much help when you need them, but fortunately, we didn't need them this round.
