Tyneside Golf Club
Played On 10/02/2020Lovely course with some challenging greens
First time on this course and really enjoyed it. The greens and green side bunkers offered challenges, as did water hazards and fairway bunkers! The only negative is that the holes all run alongside one another, and because you are playing high to low or low to high (lots of hills) there are lots of times when you are at risk of hitting, or being hit by a ball. I’ve never heard so many FORE shouts on a round of golf. Friendly staff in clubhouse and golf shop. I have already booked to play again.

Played On 10/12/2020Wow! Above all expectations - what a gem.
First time playing and I was very impressed.
Had the course to myself (a little bit of rain had encouraged others to bail on their rounds) which was delightful.
You forget you are in a city and feel like you are out in the countryside. I had a deer join me on a few holes, a woodpecker, squirrels and geese knocking around too.
The course is flat but well placed bunkers and doglegs mean you can’t just hit drivers off all the tee boxes.
The condition of the course was excellent despite rain and winter on the way.

Played On 09/17/2020The greens reminded me of a bunker
Unfortunately ALL the greens were being repaired which meant the ball would bounce along the holes in the green and splash up the sand on them along the way. Some warning that the greens were in this state of repair would have been useful.
Also, 5 groups went off all within 15 minutes. The first pairing went of late, the 3 in front of us went off 5 minutes after our tee off time and were slow, and then we had two 1 balls behind us. 1 who bombarded us with balls for the first 3 holes even though we were waiting for the lads in front before he played through.
Disappointing although the course was still in good condition otherwise and for the price was still decent.

Played On 08/21/2020A forgiving course with a lovely 18th
A good if not relatively straight forward course.
Never found the greens to be anything but in good condition.

Great central location. A forgiving course on the whole but still managed to lose a few balls on the round.
For the price it was pleasantly surprising that there was a putting green, chipping area and driving range nets to get warmed up.
Greens were in good condition.
Bar looks incredibly dated but does some lovely pints.
