West Pines Golf Club
Played On 06/17/2018Fn and challenging course
West Pines was in pretty good shape with the greens running true. It was hot and humid and I played in the afternoon so the greens were drying out and running at a pretty good speed, a a little bumpy (between the heat and looked like there was still some sand still on the green from recent top dressing). I'm an 18 handicap and found the course a pretty good challenge and a lot of fun from the white tees. It offered hills, water, marsh and each hole presented a different challenge and required you to think not just try and hit a club as far as you can. Really enjoyed the course and would play it anytime!
City Club Marietta
Played On 04/11/2018Fun course, needs some upkeep
The course is fun and challenging with some water and rolling hills and dog legs. The greens were in decent shape for this time of year but the speed was inconsistent green to green. One of the tee boxes was nothing but sand and most of the tees needed work. There is a lot of patchy grass spots in and off the fairway, but again it is only mid April. The practice tees are mats and I think if you charge what this course does, you should have grass practice tees.
Thank you for playing City Club Marietta, we appreciate the feedback. We had some tee boxes that did not fare well through the winter, but we will be re-sodding those tees over the next week or two to speed the recovery process. Once the nighttime temperatures get into the mid-60's, the Bermuda grass will start to grow again. At that point the fairways will look a lot better and we will be able to open the grass tees on the driving range. If we were to open the grass tees now, they would not be able to recover and we would have poor conditions throughout the summer. Thank you again for visiting us and we hope to see you again soon.
