Royal Oaks Golf Club
Played On 05/17/2014Course has maintanence problems
Hadn't played this course for a couple of months and was shocked at its condition. Have played here 12 years and the course was always in pristine shape. On this occasion, many of the greens, which were some of the best around, were a mess and the fairways were burned in many places with very thin grass most other places. At two o'clock on a perfect Saturday afternoon for golf, we did not see another person on the course. I was very disappointed because I have always enjoyed playing this course. Other courses in the area are in better shape for the money paid here.
Stone Creek Golf Club
Played On 05/09/2014Long, wide open, well maintained
Long course, 6 tee boxes to accommodate all golfers. Well maintained course that is with wide open fairways. Some water and some other hazards, but even average shots do not bring them into play. Truly believe you will enjoy this course.
Candler Hills Golf Club
Played On 04/27/2014Wide open, excellently maintained course.
The course is in excellent shape and has all the amenities you expect in a quality course. The course itself has a few really long holes and lots of bunkers, but no other real trouble areas. The fairways are wide and forgiving. A fun place to play. This course is NOT for walkers due to the long distances between some holes.
Rainbow's End Golf Club
Played On 02/28/2014Fun, 9-hole course. Wide open, little trouble.
Greens are good. Layout is good and fun. A great place for new players or seniors. The fairways could use a little work, but for the price, you can't beat it. The owners operate the course and snack bar and you won't find a nicer couple anywhere. Go play it and see for yourself - It's an enjoyable place! The homemade food in the snack bar is great.
The Spruce Creek Preserve Golf Club
Played On 02/17/2014Nice course at a reasonable price.
Fun course to play. Lots of wooded areas to gather your errant shots. On the 11th hole, you'll need to hit at least 100 yards over water. The course can be challenging but believe all will enjoy playing there.
Pine Oaks of Ocala
Played On 12/09/2013Great Place for A Round of Golf
Fun course in good condition for a reasonable price. Variety of holes with trees, water and wildlife. The course is fairly open and only really errant shots will get you in trouble. Watch out for the alligator that hangs out by the 18th tee box. He's only 3-4 feet but I wouldn't want to meet him up close.
Marion Oaks Country Club
Played On 12/02/2013Interesting course layout
Enjoyable course to play. A lot of dog legs, a few hills, and decently wide fairways. The greens are in good shape, but the rest of the course could use a little work. Pretty much average condition for Florida.
Thank you for your feedback. I agree that our course had a very rough transition this year and was in bad condition when you played. Our transition seemed to happen overnight. Thankfully, our superintendent has done a great job of getting the course back into shape. It has come a long way since you played it and I hope you will give us another chance. Feel free to contact me at (352)861-1818 ext. 3 if you would like to further discuss your experience.
