Indian Ridge Golf Club
Played On 05/06/2023Always a great round!
Over the last few years, they have been cutting down trees and clearing brush, to increase the play, but this is still a great value, worth the ride, a great layout, challenging and there is a friendly staff! If in Southwestern Ohio, add this course to your list!
Sugar Ridge Golf Club
Played On 10/29/2022Always a great place to play!
Since discovering this gem not far from me, my buddies an I play here several times a season! On this day we met and played with a Father and Son duo(Butch and Jason) from a nearby community and had a great time playing with them! Although the leaves are off of the trees, the crews seems to have done a decent job of keeping them isolated to the tree lines and off of the fairways, but with the wind, this will vary; the greens all looks good, but have been aerated and have plenty of sand on them.
Still a great course to play; be back soon!!!
Stonelick Hills Golf Course
Played On 09/17/2022Always a great round
This course is definitely one of the best courses in Southwestern Ohio/Indiana! It challenges you on every hole and provides very few chances to layup. Plenty of elevation change, slick greens and difficult pin placement, to make it enjoyable round for all! If you are new to the game, go elsewhere; this is not the course play!!!
Graywolf Golf Course
Played On 08/19/2022Nicely done!!!
Props to the Management Team, as the course has come a long way since opening late last Fall! I hope that it will be back to the old glory before this season is out and full glory by next season. The bunkers have all be manicured and filled with soft sand, trees and debris have been removed and much of the long grass and brush is down, cut back and no longer part of the surrounding environment. Some of the tee boxes still need some work, but they are working on these too!
Nicely Done!
Graywolf Golf Course
Played On 08/19/2022Getting Better; Almost back!
I have played this course several times this year, especially when they first opened and it looks much better now, than it did in April or May! The rough is down, the fairways looks good and the greens are roiling good, considering the damage.
Can't wait for the club house to open, so that we finally get another full service GC in North Dayton!
Morningstar Golf Club
Played On 08/13/2022Loved the Greens!!!
While the course was not that bad, the Greens themselves were indeed the highlight of the round/trip. While the Greens were soft, they also had multiple shelves, increasing the difficulty of the hole and adding to the challenge of the round. There a re a couple of holes with a creek running across the approach and the mature trees add to the difficulty and make it a narrow course; all not bad things to have. I think with a little more time and attention to the fairways and tee boxes, this would be nice East side course. I will give it another look next year, as I am from Ohio.
Sugar Ridge Golf Club
Played On 07/09/2022A Sleeper, a Must and an additional to my Favorite list!!!
Although on this particular day, pace pf play was held up, due to earlier weather, this course is a sleeper and is a great test of your game, has friendly staff, great views and provides risk/reward challenges on several holes! If you are worried about the ride, dont be, the course is well worth it. Holes 1 and 2 seem to be designed to get you started, then 4,5, 6 and 7 will challenge you and like most, 9 is a blind shot with plebty of trouble; love this course!!!
Clarence4Par, thanks for the amazing review and for choosing Sugar Ridge Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon!
Winding Ridge Golf Club
Played On 05/07/2022Played when wet and windy
Although the weather conditions were not favorable on the day that I played, it was windy and very wet, I thought the course was in great shape. It has been a few years since I have played there, so I forgot how challenging the Par 3's could be and the blind shots that exist, especially hole 7!
Coming from Ohio, this was worth my drive and worth a round or 2!
Sugar Ridge Golf Club
Played On 04/10/2022Well worth the drive, money and viait
This courage is definitely a gem of Southern Indiana/Ohio and a must visit, if you are within an hour or two! Great layout, very challenging and scenic, even in the pre and post seasons! However, if you like flat, plain, run of the mill golfcourses, stay away,, because this course has elevation, pitch, ponds, houses(alrhough not really in play) and trouble!
Book a tee time and enjoy!
Hello, Clarence4Par. Thank you for visiting us at Sugar Ridge Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
The Willow at Golf Courses at Kenton County, The
Played On 06/20/2020Needs some care, but a good track!
The course itself it a nice course; I am pretty sure that the only flat spots were in the parking lot and that is a good thing! The greens were fast and the fairways were hard, so getting extra out of clubs was easy. The only drawback here was the cart paths; needs work! Considering some of the courses that I have been to, way off of the beatin path, this course was well worth the trip from the Dayton area; I will be playing this one again!
Thank you for the review and feedback! We are always striving to improve the experience for our guests. It is in our capital improvements to begin working on the cart paths this year! We hope to earn your business again soon and get an opportunity for you to enjoy some of the cart path renovations! -KC Team
Turtle Creek Golf Course
Played On 10/05/2019Not a bad track
This was my forest time playing this course and the first thing that stands out, is the friendliness of the staff and others that were playing! We met 3 ladies playing and they were the friendliest group and even helped me locate a mishit ball. The course has plenty of trouble(ponds, hills and trees), as well as fairway and green side bunkers to draw you attention and ball to. There are 4 tee boxes and gall looked as good as the fairways; very little drought conditiins. Due to the scramble they had lined up for the afternoon, I did not get a chance to visit the grill, but signs posted on the carts, indicated sandwiches at the turn.
We have added this to our list of course to play again; if in the area, try it out!
Boulder Creek Golf Club
Played On 08/31/2019A Must Play!!!
This course lacked absolutely nothing, except easiness! From the first tee to the last, this course will challenge every part of your game. The narrow fairways and approaches, hills, blind tee shots, dog legs, mature trees, large tee boxes, water hazards and drop offs; this course has it all! If you are la ong ball hitter, I would suggest scaling it back or play from the tournament tees, as this course will penalize and reward It was well worth the 3 hour drive from Southwestern Ohio, to see and play and I will certainly make it again and well worth the cost!
GO PLAY THIS COURSE!!!
Cooks Creek Golf Club
Played On 08/24/2019Needs work!!!
While I have played this course before, late in the season and the leaves were all down and the ponds were dry. This time, the trees were in full bloom, but due to the humid conditions lately, the ponds were dry and the fairways were dryer than a desert and lacked the grass to evwn have a good lye. While it can be a challenging course, it needs plenty of water, reseeding and plenty of care! If you like grass on your course when you play, don't go here........ Once the grass comes back, this is a good course to play.
Hi, Clarence4Par. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We understand your frustration with the current conditions. Please bear with us as we work diligently to make improvements. We hope you'll give us another try in the future. Thanks for choosing Cooks Creek Golf Club.
Twin Run Golf Course
Played On 05/11/2019Not a bad track
Considering the amount of rain recently, the course was in pretty good condition; the staff all were very friendly, including some of the regulars that I interacted with! There are certainly some challenging holes and tee shots, but be careful if you are long baller; mid to high handicappers, go check this one out!
Golf Club of Dublin
Played On 09/15/2019I'll be back!
I have been wanting to play this course since working in the Columbus area and hearing about it from a few coworkers! First, although I was running a little late for my tee time, they wasted no time getting me to the Starter, and tee box, of which, he took a little time, to give me some course instructions, as well as did a good job of ensuring there was enough time/space between the group that was in front of us. The course was pretty and green, the Greens were receptive, large and not even close to being flat and although there are houses, they were not so close to the fairways, that you had to worry about hitting them, unless you have a severe hook or slice! The par 3's played longer than they looked, which is good and 5's tested your ability to keep it in the fairway; all in all, this is a nice course and one that has been added to my list of playables for the area; I will definitely be back!
Dearborn Country Club
Played On 07/07/2019Not bad!
The lack of a simple hole and flat spot, almost anywhere on this course, makes up for the lack of on-course water. Some of the holes could be marked a little better and the cart paths could be a little friendlier, but all in all, this is a challenging courage and worrh the drive to Indiana to play; we will be going back! The chicken sandwich and fries from the Bar was pretty good too!
Indian Ridge Golf Club
Played On 09/15/2018Nice place to play!
This course is a SW Ohio sleeper! Depending on the conditions, she can play tough, but fair! There is just enough fairway to make you wanna swing away, but just enough trouble to make you think twice. While most par 3s can be forgiving, all will challenge your club selection and distance control. IMO, this couse is worth the drive, worth playing, worth the money and I will visit this one many more times!!!
Woodside/Valley View at Weatherwax Golf Course
Played On 06/19/2016Nicely portioned
Although I have not played all 4 courses yet, the 2 outside courses are rumored to be the more challenging courses and offer a variety tee boxes for all levels. No houses to worry about, but be careful about pounding the ball with your driver, as there are plenty of trees, drop offs and ponds! This course is worth your trip to Middletown and it likely one of the areas beat secrets!
Harbor Links at Sagamore Resort
Played On 05/03/2015Great golf for the Money and Drive!
Although this course was off the beaten path, it was certainly worth the <30 minutes trip South of Richmond In, to get to the scenic, well thought out and hidden course! The front 9 played ok and had some WOW factor to the holes, but almost every hole on the back 9 was absolutely WOW, especially the views of Brookville Lake! be sure to keep your eye on the hole on 16, as the view from box may just make you miss the green!!!
