Berkshire Valley Golf Course
Played On 07/26/2023Shortcuts Taken in Maintenance
This is a nice layout but from time to time conditions deteriorate and/or shortcuts are taken. Now is one of those times. 2 of the par 3’s are water carries and the weeds have been allowed to grow so high that the greens are no longer visible from the tee! Blind shot par 3’s over water!. The cheapo course solution has been to install tall flags instead of cut the weeds. This is a joke and ruins 2 perfectly fine holes. And the tee boxes are badly beat up on most holes too.
Glen Mills Golf Course

What a fun course. Glen Mills is full of intriguing holes, one after another. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape. If in the area again I will definitely play here again.
Berkshire Valley Golf Course
Played On 04/27/2021Bunker Work Needed, No Ranger
We played a Tuesday afternoon round on a perfect day for golf but it took 5 hours. There was no ranger to push the group ahead of us and a 2 to 3 hole opened in front of them. Rocks in the bunkers have been a problem for several years and there seem to be no plans to address this. Many bunkers are completely unplayable. I don’t know how a legitimate score can be posted should you enter a trap. This is a fun, picturesque layout that desperately needs some work done.
White/Red at Ramblewood Country Club
Played On 07/27/2018First time playing here
Was in the area visiting family and this course was recommended by another golfer. Course was quite wet due to heavy recent rain and course conditions were mediocre, and not just because of the rain. The staff was friendly, the pace of play was fine, but the layout on the White nine is a bore, no character at all. The Blue nine was far more interesting with good design use of elevation changes. Course seems to be heavily outing focused; not a serious golfer’s course in my view.

This very fine layout has suffered under the management of the Billy Casper Co. In short, corners are being cut. Tee boxes are in poor shape - particularly on par 3's, fairway divots are rampant, and the greens are mediocre at best. The course reminds me of unkept munis from decades ago. On course drinking water containers were empty the day we played, even the Porto John hand sanitizer was empty. This stuff added up over the course of the round on what is otherwise a fine, fun to play course.
