GreyStone Golf Club
Played On 08/15/2022Always a great round
As usual, the course was in great shape. The staff is always friendly. I’ve probably played here a dozen times here. The greens are a little bit softer than usual. But always a great bang for your buck.

Played On 07/19/2018I wish it was closer so I could play it more
I think this course has really come into its own. It’s layout is super fun. There’s enough danger to make it a risk-reward play, but you can go low if you avoid the hazards. Some of the bunkers are currently GUR, but I avoided them so they didn’t come into play for me. I did intentionally aim at a couple of fairway bunkers knowing I could take a free drop. I won’t be able to do that next time. It’s obvious that those traps are currently being repaired. I would assume they will be completed very soon. The fairways are in good to great shape. The greens are definitely receptive and rolling probably at a 12 or so. I especially like their mixed tees. I don’t know why more courses don’t do this. I generally play the orange tees at 6500 yards. So half the time my tee will be the same as the back tees and the other half are with the white tees. My only grievance is that I live over 35 miles away so it takes too long to get there. Otherwise, I would be there a lot more.
Franklin Bridge Golf Club
Played On 07/11/2018Very consistent
I play here about twice a month on average. One of the best things I can say about this course, and for that matter any course, is that it is consistentt in its play and condition. I have always thought the course played above average, especially after it changed its greens years ago. The layout is fun and slightly tricked up (holes 14 and 18), that is what adds some of the fun to the course. It gets a lot of play so kudos to keeping the course maintained. I see a full driving range most every time I play. I try to avoid playing here on weekends as the round can be 5+ hours. In this heat, that just doesn’t cut it. It could definitely use new carts or better maintenance on the carts. They are not as bad as they used to be, but steering is terrible. Overall, for a course nearby, I am grateful to have a fun and accessible place to play
Nashboro Golf Club
Played On 07/11/2018Improvements abound
Nashboro has always had a great layout, so it has always been a matter of conditions and maintenance. Those have definitely been improving. I believe the fairways and greens are definitely above average. The bunkers need some TLC, but I have a feeling that is the next project. The greens were recently punched and still rolled great. The driving range and practice green are not very large, but that is due to a lack of space. I play here at least once a month, so I have definitely noticed the progress. I hope they keep it going.
GreyStone Golf Club
Played On 07/08/2018Never disappointed
Greystone continues to be in my top 3 for Nashville public courses. Given the value, it usually ranks as #1. Course conditions are always pristine. The layout combines a great mixture of holes with well placed bunkers and hazards - rocks not included. The staff is always professional and polite. I don’t even mind the near hour drive because it’s always worth it.
Indian Hills Golf Course
Played On 07/05/2018Course is really improving
I generally play this course 6-8 times a year for no other reason than it is 25 miles away. If I lived closer, I would play it more often. The course is really improving. There is new signage placed throughput the course. For those who have never played here, I am sure it is helpful especially getting to #8 and #10 tee boxes. The greens are in excellent shape. They are firm but fair, and they roll very true. The fairways are actually better than most in middle TN. They don’t have the hardpan areas like a lot of courses are still struggling with lately. There are still some ground under repair areas, but I personally didn’t find them to be in play. The layout has a great mixture of doglegs and distances. I generally play the white tees, but when the fairways are firm, I’ll play the tips. For the value, especially as a Hot Deal on Golfnow, it’s a steal.

Played On 11/08/2014Just a little more TLC and the course should be really good.
The greens roll better than they look. Fairways are dormant and just OK. The pace of play was not great but they were very busy. The layout is tough if you don't hit it straight. Overall, not a bad round.

Excellent condition, layout, staff & round of golf. One of the best public courses in the area.
