Cracklewood Golf Club
Played On 08/14/2015Well Manicured and Very Fair Test
Played the back tees at 6500 yards, a suitable yardage for me. The course design was perfect for those that want to have FUN! Nice and wide landing areas, with bunkers hugging the greens allow for playable misses off the tee, and some challenge around the green.
Not overly tough however. Greens are easy to read, and again, this makes it fun especially for the first time player!
Myth Golf & Banquet - Regulation Course
Played On 06/16/2015Well groomed, but dont let that fool you
The course was well manicured, and the clubhouse was very nice, I cannot deny that. However, the design of the course was not enjoyable. Great if you are close to the course, but not worth the drive from the suburbs.
Forest Dunes Golf Club
Played On 05/28/2015Fun, Fair, and Exciting
Beautifully designed and maintained. Each set of tees are well set for all skill levels. I played the 2/3 split tees, and had a wonderful time! Great yardages to hit from that offered a challenge, yet lots of fun!
The greens weren't too fast, and the rough was very very forgiving to keep up pace of play and make the course more fun. I loved it. Hats off to the director of golf and the superintendent!
Leslie Park Golf Course
Played On 08/29/2014Best Muni in Washtenaw
Of all Arthur Hills designs, this is his best. Undulating terrain keep things interesting here and the bunkers are very well placed. Great golf experience for being in the city!
Cherry Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/18/2014Great Design, Poor Conditions`
While I love the design of the course, the conditions were just god awful for what I payed for. The greens were burnt out and did not role true. While I love the pace of the greens, I think that CCGC needs to start thinking about the health of their greens before trying to have them roll at country club speeds.
I will not be returning until the conditions improve, and I hope they do!
Old at Indianwood Golf & Country Club
Played On 07/07/2014My Favorite Course
This track is my all time, favorite course. It sets the standard for the ultimate fair test of golf while being picturesque in its condition and scenery. A clubhouse of mass proportion accompanied by an 18th green that is also massive.
East at Maple Lane Golf Club
Played On 06/18/2014Superb green conditions.
Fairways and tees were average, however the greens are the purest I have played. While other courses may have quicker greens, they don't role as smoothly and do not bounce as much.
They have a cart staff that will greet you at your car and load your clubs which is very nice.
Amazing food, couldn't have been happier with the quality of the food service.
North at Maple Lane Golf Club
Played On 06/09/2014Great test, lots of fun holes
While it's a shorter course at 5700 yards, it has lots of character and many fun holes. I love playing here, there's a lot of risk reward like on number 9, 10, 14, and 18.
The greens were incredibly pure and hold the ball well, great condition.
Tees and fairwarys were average but still nice.
Don't go in the rough, it is think and there are lots of trees.
Grand Traverse Resort & Spa - The Bear Course
Played On 05/24/2014Golden Bear Does it Again
Jack Nicklaus does it again. he never stops amazing people with his golf talent, now this time in golf course architecture. The design is perfect. Many of these up north courses have some filler holes here and there to get you to their sigature hole. This one however, has none. EVERY hole is a picture hole.
The Club at LochenHeath
Played On 05/22/2014Northern Michigan's Hidden Gem
This is in my top 10 for the state. It is truly a hidden gem located on the Grand Traverse Bay. With breathtaking views and a wonderfully designed track, this is a MUST PLAY if you're in the Traverse City area. I hope you enjoy this course as much as I did
