Rowallan Castle Golf Club

Always enjoy playing Rowallen, lovely setting, challenging course and very friendly staff.
The reason we chose to play Rowallen was because they had full greens on when most in the area we're playing winter greens.
The only issue with Rowallen is the drainage. I know its been wet recently but I've played here in the summer and it's the only thing that let's it down. After a little bit of rain there will be several holes that are totally soaked.
It's a shame as I would play here a lot more if they could work out a way of drying out the course.

After a day of heavy rain the day before I was a bit concerned about the condition the course would be in. Don't worry, it could be raining for a week and this place would cope. Fairways bone dry, green firm and true, all round the course was in excellent condition.
Friendly staff and top class facilities.

Nice course, pretty short and suffers from badly from rain. Good layout, some scenic holes.
Would play again after a few dry days.

Good fun course, easily to get thru 12 holes in 2 hours. £27 for 12 holes is rather expensive at the weekend.
Hi Kevin,
Thank you for your review, and we are glad you chose to come and play some winters golf here at Rowallan. It is a big asset here at Rowallan to have the USGA greens and tees meaning we can keep the full course in play all year round.
With regard to the drainage, we have completed a lot of drainage projects over the last two seasons such as new pipes and over seeding on the fairways. We have drainage projects planned for this winter and hopefully that will help the recovery rates after a wet period.
We hope to see you back at Rowallan soon.
