Blackwater Golf Course

I don't know who wrote the first review but it seem rather biased. Fisrt of all, when I got there the club house was close with a note on the door notifying that to golf I have to call a phone number. Upon calling and waiting an additional 15 mins before he gets there I was not given a receipt for my purchase or even a decent scorecard that maps out the course. The course was ridiculously disorganized and lack directions. On more then 3 occasions we were lost trying to remember the map the management showed us to get to the next hole. There are nothing that resembles fairways(not cut) and the trees were always in your way of reaching what should be the fairway which make holes impossible to plan for. No signs on holes so either. Also, there seem to be small swamps hidden all over the course that are leveled with the grounds making it impossible to see from even 100 yards out. It was a very disappointing experience that has left me and my friend feeling deceived by the course and golf now for allowing such bias rating to be marketed.
While we are disappointed in this review, there were several mitigating factors that have been left out. We, like most of Ontario, had experienced torrential storms the previous day. We explained that there was water pooling on several fairways and it would take a day or two to fully drain (we are in a river valley). Due to the heavy rainfall, the lower fairways were not able to be cut until the pooling had drained. There are no swamps on this course. Because of these conditions, an additional 20% discount was offered and accepted.
Finally, as satisfaction is important to BlackWater, we would like to offer this poster a free round of golf, so that he can fully enjoy our pesticide free golf course under normal conditions. Please call and ask for John or Nick
