Great Course and Layout, But...

I've been playing this course for a couple of years and the condition is great. They had a few green issues and some of the tee boxes (especially the whites) are in disrepair. Overall, I think this is a great course and offers many playing abilities.

However, the one area I feel needs to be enhanced is the starter and fact that they don't seem to have a ranger to keep pace of play.

The starter I usually see (John) is fantastic, but wasn't there this day. However, they have a new starter and not only is he inexperienced at starting times and groups, he's not very pleasant.

Pace of play for 3:30 in the afternoon on a Monday should be quicker than 5 1/2 hours for a twosome. A proper starter and ranger would fix this issue.

As I stated, I really do like the course, but won't play much due to those issues.

We appreciate your comments but regret your day was less than 5 star. Greens are transitioning to summer grass which will complete soon. Unfortunately with the increase in play tee boxes do not have time to recuperate fully. Our starter staff is not new but they do rotate days occasionally and rangers are in place everyday. We believe with the arrival of a new fleet of carts with GPS, play can be monitored from the golf shop and rangers directed to any hole in need. The fleet was ordered for 2/2022 and has not arrived yet. Be assured that management is aware of the issues you mentioned and is working to correct them.

Great Layout, Poor Condition

I wish I thought to take pictures of this course when I played on May 19, 2021. I've played this course before and it was in great shape. Not so much anymore. I imagine Covid had a lot to do with it, but I can't understand why now because it was packed. We had an early tee time so we played pretty quick. However, the driving range is in ok shape and the golf balls look like I found them in my grandfathers bag. They are beat up and need to be replaced. I played from the Blue tees and most of the tee boxes were in very poor condition and it looks like they were using Centipede grass for them, which is the cheapest grass and not conducive to playing golf from. The greens were hit or miss, only a few were in exceptional shape. The guys playing behind us drove their carts pretty much right up to the greens, which tells me that they don't manage play very well as any serious golfer knows better. Overall, I won't go back. If you are looking to just smack around the ball and don't really keep track of a handicap, this course is great for you. You can't do much more harm than the crew has already done to the course and based on what we saw, no one would tell you otherwise. It used to say an "Arnold Palmer Signature Course" on the sign by the road. It no longer does and I imagine that's because of its condition. It's a shame because it used to be a great course.

Hi, AmmoGolf13. Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about the course is important to us. We are working to get everything up to par. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game, and we will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Crescent Pointe Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.

Great Layout, Excellent Conditions

I will start with a warning, that I'm biased toward this course. I am a league member and play it twice a week. When I first started two years ago, they were struggling with the greens. But, they've figured it out and they are in excellent condition. The whole course is, with the exception of a few tee boxes. Overall, this course offers challenging play for any level, and if you are a single to scratch golfer you can play from the tips. The course is not extremely long, but it's challenging as precision is key. If you are in Bluffton, this is a great course, but it is often booked so make your tee times weeks in advance if you can.

Very Nice Course

We played this course on our second day and it was fantastic course. We actually got a discounted price off the already low price through Golf Now. Even though it was cold and Windy and Myrtle Beach had seen quite a bit of rain, the course was not wet and we were able to drive on the fairways. The layout has a nice challenge for all caliber of players with several teeing options. Greens and fairways were in fantastic condition.

All in all, this was one of my favorite courses that we played and I would definitely go back

It Was Ok

This is a course we played first for our week long golf trip. It's a bit out of the way which makes for quick play as there were not too many golfers out there. The weather was a factor the week we played, but the course drained quite well and it was awfully wet. Fairways or decent, but not to the same par as most courses in Myrtle Beach. However, if you are a beginner golfer, this is a great course to play and hone your skills. For more experienced golfers, this is not a course you will enjoy as there isn't much of challenge and the conditions are geared toward the weekend golfer that is just looking to get a round in.

All in all, we didn't have anything real negative to say about the course, but it's not one we will probably play again as it's a bit of a drive and we are looking for a more challenging course.
