Better Options Elsewhere

Aerated the greens and gave no notice to golfers. Staff at desk is surly at best and usually just plain nasty. Course conditions are only fair and maintenance is sliding. Try Key Biscayne (Crandon) or Miami Springs for a much better experience and better golf.

Average Municipal Course

They advertise the course's past history because it has trailed ever since. It is an okay muni course. Course maintenance has improved over the past two years but is still fairly average. Very few interesting holes on the front side, but a couple of them on the back. This is not a course to go out of your way to play. The only truly appealing muni course in Miami is on Key Biscayne.

Forget the Trump Name - Still a Tired Course

Despite Donald Trump's egoistic bellowing about his remake of Doral, it is still an over-played, over-priced, tired course. Back in the 60's and earlier its claim to fame was length. That's no longer the case and the holes don't make up for its age. Some courses improve with age, this one stayed relatively static.

I used to be a member but left because of the decline of the course and general facilities. Notwithstanding the fresh paint and surface renovations, it is still the same mediocre course it was. The other courses have been given new names and routing, but are essentially the same uninspired layouts. A name like Red Tiger may sound great, but it is still the old Red woman's course. Same with the Gold and the White which is only leased for another couple of years.

OK for practice. Forget anything else

Not maintained. Relatively boring track with two or three interesting holes. Moderate Condo development course. Greens are really poor. Tee boxes are chewed up and not repaired. Fairway is only okay with rough just grass that isn't cut. Little to no shot shaping required. FLAT. Bunkers are poor to very poor. Little to no sand in bunkers. Okay and relatively cheap for Miami if you just want a practice round.
