Settlers' Ghost Golf Club
Played On 08/03/2014Good layout with challenges for everyone!
Great course! Well maintained although I found the grass on the tee box a little soft for my liking.
Staff were very friendly and food was very tasty.
Cowichan Golf and Country Club
Played On 05/11/2014First game on the island did not disappoint!
Visiting some friends in the area and decided to get out for a round. Stunning views and well laid out. Only complaint was that they had just punched the greens but for the rate I got through golf now I didn't let it affect my outlook. Very relaxing game with nice pace of play. The 10th hole was particularly scenic. Will be playing again for sure.
CFB Borden Golf Club - Circled Pine
Played On 07/05/2013Classic course with excellent restaurant
I've played this course numerous times and always find it challenging and fun. The course is well setup for walking although on those hot afternoons you're probably better off in a cart. The clubhouse serves up outstanding food at very reasonable prices and has a patio that offers a view of the 10th tee box and and green. I recommend this course to any of my friends passing thru the area.
Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club
Played On 07/01/2013Inattentive Proshop staff and Rough Greens
I played this course on Canada Day after it was recommended to me. I arrived 30 min early so I could practice chipping and putting but trying to explain that to the staff at the reception desk was surprisingly difficult. They kept saying I couldn't tee off until it was my booked time, needless to say it was frustrating. The course had an interesting layout and could be excellent if the greens were better maintained. There was also a lot of walking and an excessive amount of background noise with people doing things in their yards to cause distractions. I will say that the back nine was especially beautiful with challenging holes but suffered drainage issues and clouds of mosquitos. I would play again but only if it was a hot deal.
Springwater Golf Course
Played On 06/29/2013Beautiful scenery & forgiving fairways
I loved the layout of the course, the fairways were generously wide and in good condition with hazards being challenging but not cumbersome. The greens were a little rough on a few holes but the rest were excellent and offered a lot of variety in size and difficulty. We teed off at around 715 and never felt pressured or experienced delays. Finally broke 95 and it couldn't have been on a nicer course.
