White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park
Played On 08/01/2020Nice course, good value
I had a good time at White Clay Creek, despite being on cart path only. It seemed to be necessary, but there wasn't that much rain the previous two days so maybe it doesn't drain that well, i don't know. The layout is interesting, but maybe over engineered and forced a bit. Not enough to be unpleasant, though.
Bethlehem Golf Club - Executive Nine
Played On 05/24/2020Disappointed
I was looking forward to trying this course because it's listed as 7000 years and it's hard to find long public courses. When i got there, they had the back TWO tee boxes closed for no reason other than "most golfers can't handle a course over 6200 yards." I got a lecture about it, too. This place caters to 25 hcp players, which is fine, because the course itself has all the personality of a slice of white bread and was only in B- shape. That's apparently a massive improvement, but no second cut of rough, the greens weren't rolled and they took out hundreds of trees recently so there aren't any good sight lines. I won't be back.
Wyncote Golf Club
Played On 08/21/2020Best course in the area.
This place is a championship course that is always in championship shape. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Literally the only thing bad i have to say about wyncote is that they don't have any indication as to whether the flag is front, middle or back. This is a minor annoyance.
Heron Glen Golf Course
Played On 07/25/2020Great course. Has issues.
These guys are forcing a max of two carts per group, which means along strangers to share a cart. One star for not taking the pandemic seriously.
The course is excellent; well kept, scenic and challenging. The greens are a little slow for the caliber of course. They just need to roll them.
Last issue, the starter this past weekend was one of the rudest individuals I've ever encountered on a golf course. There's a difference between respectfully enforcing rules and schooling your customers like children. At least 4 people i didn't know commented on how rude he was to me. I bit my tongue and kept my cool. It was just completely unacceptable.
Heron Glen Golf Course
Played On 07/11/2020Great course poor covid policy
This course has a beautiful and interesting layout. The day i played was right after a lot of weather and the greens were long and not rolled. The bunkers also had damage from heavy rains. I'm willing to assume that was poor luck and they aren't always like that, especially since the rest of the course was in great shape.
Unfortunately, this course is attempting to force players into 2 per cart. This is unacceptable while people are still getting hospitalized for covid. I walked, despite a heat index over 100, which took away from my experience. Minus 3 stars for not keeping customers safe.
Turtle Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/04/2020Apparently they haven't heard about covid
Turtle Creek is getting a temporary 1 star review. The course is great, it's in good shape and basically everything golf related met my expectations. I do like this course. Unfortunately, these guys have some work to do keeping customers safe. The two person per cart policy is unacceptable. They are the only course i have played in the last two months with that policy and the guy in the pro shop (with his mask under his chin) tried to defend it, like it would cost them so much money to have one person per cart. I'll not be back until the pandemic is over.
One person per cart is definitely a concern, regardless of what the other player who commented might think. The last I heard there is a pandemic raging.
One person per cart is not a concern to you, the only people that have a say are the two people in the cart. Don't give a 1 star review over a topic that has nothing to do with you.
Hi mthoman1. Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park.
