Ravisloe Country Club
Played On 10/21/2018Poor showing by rangers and manager
While we all experience frost delays in the Chicago area during this time of year, sometimes the management and rangers need to coordinate to do things and treat people equally, whether it is a paying customer or your employees. Several customers who have already payed and have been waiting over 1 hour watched one of your employees drive out to the tenth tee and start playing while over 16 people stood at the first tee and were not allowed to tee off of 10th hole after your employee started on the 10th hole. The excuse we were given by the ranger was that he was an employee only playing 3 holes before he starts working at noon! Are you kidding me? And then you do not allow payed customers to follow an employee that conditions were playable for him to tee off at 11:10. Unbelievable. I play this course 7-10 times a year and I often bring and pay for my father in law. Let’s call it a dozen rounds a year, plus beverages, lunch from time to time and range balls as well. That is $1,000 of my business alone that you will never see from me. We left your course with a rain check because we were told a refund was not possible. Crazy. We left and walked onto Coyote Run at 11:35 and finished before 2pm. I will play your course one more time with my rain check, but will never spend another dollar there. Shameful
Lost Marsh Golf Course
Played On 06/30/2018Greens need work
I play here at least 8-10 rounds a year and the greens are starting to look bad here. Too many golfers playing here are not being mindful of fixing their own ball marks or any at all. As a rule of thumb, I am always mindful and fix any ball marks within a 5ft radius of where my mark is. I wish more golfers at Lost Marsh would practice this. Course is very challenging nonetheless and in overall pretty good shape. Was disappointed to pay $63 given the green conditions.
Heritage Bluffs Public Golf Club
Played On 06/29/2018Golf course of dreams
This course is similar to the baseball field in the movie, Field of Dreams. You drive up to it unassumingly, and walk into the simple, modest, yet somewhat charming looking clubhouse and you are greeted with a warm welcome. The carts are fairly new, if not new. When you pull up to the starter’s hut your eyes are just drawn to the fairways and tee boxes that are the lushest most vibrant hues of green that you could imagine! The greens are in just as great of conditions! While the greens could be a bit more undulating and challenging, they are not easy by any stretch either. Brian Smith the Superintendent there is a genius! His crew is ever present and the results show their dedication. This course is a now forever in my 2 week rotation! Well worth the price!
Ravisloe Country Club
Played On 05/09/2018Pristine conditions
The owners and management at Ravisloe have really put their best efforts into this course over the last 18 months. The course was great before the renovations and restoration work started in 2017, however the course is in the best shape that I’ve ever played on in over 3 years! A true gem in the South burbs. Tee boxes are perfect. Fairways are beautiful. The course may be on the shorter side, but the layout is amazing! It is rare to find a loose branch on the course...anywhere! Kudos to the ground crew and greens keepers!! Greens are in amazing conditions, and the deep set greenside bunkers are beautiful and in great condition. A course that should be in every golfer’s monthly or weekly rotation! If there is one thing the course needs to or should do...they should put fairway feed bottles on their carts to give golfers a chance to help take care of the fairways to ease the burden on the grounds crew.
The Quarry Golf Course
Played On 04/06/2018Not a hundred dollar course by a long shot!
While the layout of the course is unique and cool to play, it is not a course worthy of the hundred dollar price tag. This course should be a $50-$60 max green fee. The course that Day had an outing which started at 1:30pm that day andvour tee time was at 8:20. We never saw a beverage cart the entire round! Our round was 4 hours and 15 minutes, which I thought was great, but for the course to forget about their regular customers that day due to an outing showed poorly in my opinion. Sorry, not worth the money. Go play La Canter’s courses instead
Gran Coyote Golf Riviera Maya
Played On 09/06/2017Grand Coral
Great course. Great conditions. Greens are SLOW. There is ZERO run up to the greens! Play your shot 3-5 yards short of the pin and you will do well. We did a 1:40 tee time. I highly recommend playing as early as possible even if it is exponentially more expensive. If you can afford $60 US, you can afford $120 to golf. You will not regret playing at 6:40 and paying full price and pass up sweating your butt off all day in 100 degree heat indexes
