Tiger's Eye Golf Links at Ocean Ridge Plantation

From the friendliness of the staff when we first arrived, to getting us out one hour before our tee time, to the conditions of the course, and a four hour round this course is a must. Excellent conditions considering it’s winter still!

This course is in unbelievable condition. The grounds crew deserve a raise. The fairways were tremendous and the greens were in impeccable shape. BY FAR the best conditioned course I have played all season. I can’t believe it is in such great shape on November 4!!

The course was in okay condition for this time of year. A little disappointed that on more than one occasion after a good drive had to try to find a good spot to place the ball because the fairway was lacking good grass. Also I like to play 6000-6100 yards or so but my choices were 5800 or 6300+. Would have been nice to have another set of tees in between those choices. Overall a good value to play a private course ($65 thru GolfNow)

If you like fairways covered with dirt patches everywhere this course is for you. If you like to be overcharged ($70 for a weekday) for a course with poor conditions this course is for you. If you like 5 plus hours (today mine was 5 hours, 19 minutes) then this course is for you. Do yourself a big favor and find another course to play at

Now unfortunately it is not a good experience. I do love the layout of this course and don’t mind the one hour drive but my last two experiences here, ESPECIALLY THIS PAST WEEKEND, were dreadful. Had a 1:20 tee time which should be plenty of time to get 18 in. Well we didn’t tee off until almost 2 because the starter told us the pro shop was “jamming people in” in between peoples tee times. We got in 15 holes in 4 and 1/2 hours. Waited on EVERY SINGLE SHOT!!! Greens were aerated which is understandable at this time of year but didn’t find out until the first green because we weren’t informed beforehand...not cool. No twilight rate even though we teed off at 2:00. Did I mention we had a 1:20 tee time?
Not sure if the course is under new management or if they are just trying to make as much money as possible by jamming tee times but sadly it will be a while before I go back to play here.
I would have given one star but enjoyed playing with the people they paired us up with.

First time playing the course so wasn’t sure what to expect when we arrived. Well, it was way more than expected. I would play this course 7 days a week if I didn’t live 2 hours away. So impressed right from when we pulled up at the bag drop until we turned our cart in at the end. Staff was attentive and super friendly, course layout was spectacular and the conditions we top notch. I promise you will not find a better course in Massachusetts for the value. I can’t wait to play it again in the fall when I imagine the views are spectacular!

Great track. Conditions were superb! Staff super friendly. Only downside was stuck behind a foursome of VERY slow walkers for about 5 holes but after I skipped a hole and scooted by them the course was wide open. Highly recommend this Donald Ross gem.

Played On 07/04/2020The good, the bad and the ugly
The Good: Staff was top notch. Greens were fantastic. Fairways and rough were just okay.
The Bad: Trying to get from one hole to the next was very difficult, especially for a first-timer to the course. POORLY marked directions to next hole. Went to wrong hole twice. If you look closely you’ll see the hole : on a small post. The TEENY, TINY map on the card makes it really difficult to see the hole numbers so the you know the direction you are hitting since there are many blind shots. Again would it kill the course to put a layout of the hole on each tee box?
The Ugly: The carts are some of the worst I’ve ever used. My back was really sore after the round from all the bouncing around the cart did. And the rain guard on the back kept falling down because the Velcro was so worn. The cart guy had to tape it so it would fall. Very cheesy. And final complaint was the snack shack was closed when we made the turn... at 3:30!!!! I asked why and was told “it’s a holiday”!! If you are going to be open on the holiday all aspects of the course should be open or at least have someone driving a cart around with snacks and beverages. I would have brought my own cooler had I known but I know courses frown on that.
Overall I would rate this course a 5 out of 10. There are much better courses and amenities that you can get for less than the $75 greens/cart fee.
The tee times are at 9 minute intervals, no jamming tee times exists. This course like many during this covid season has been booked solid from 6am till 5pm daily and therefore back ups can occur sometimes. Playing early is always a good idea on weekends.
Hello, thank you for reviewing the course. We would like to apologize for the delay of play during your round. Please know that this is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and to best control pace allowing everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve, and use your comments as guidance in doing so. Thank you for playing Acushnet River Valley Golf Course. We hope to see you again soon.
