Immaculate conditions, but price gouging on electric carts

Course is in pristine condition, greens are running fast and true fairways are perfect. Too bad about the cart fees, choose to walk out of principle.

course is in great shape

really enjoyed our round, fairways and greens in fantastic shape...slow start but things picked up after the first 4-5 holes. still trying to figure out why the designer made the course with two (tight) par 5's to start your round....

Highlands is in fantastic shape right now

have always liked this course and yesterday was a good day to check it out again after a lengthy absence from it. happy to report the course is in great shape both fairways and greens and despite the fact that they no longer have any marshalling on the course, we never had to wait long to tee it up. I imagine this could be a problem on the weekends when traffic would be heavier.

a nice walk in the park

first time playing this course....it's in good shape, greens in particular. glad i walked instead of taking a cart, it's an easy course to walk with no distance from green to tee and no elevation changes. fairly short course with a bit of trouble but not on every hole. very enjoyable round.

bring your A game

with the wind up, the hundreds of bunkers and water on each hole, you need to hit the ball straight and long to score on this well groomed course.

winter took it's toll

because of the brutally hard winter and ice storm, all courses are struggling to repair the damage done over the last 5 months. Lionhead is no exception, and due to all the trees on and around the course, it may have suffered worse than most. Hundreds of trees damaged or lost from the ice storm and lots of winter kill on the greens......but I have no doubt it will bounce back over the next month or two. If you play this course over the next month or so, keep in mind that mother nature is to blame, not course superintendents. The course is very playable, just not the same course you may have played last year. Ground crews are busy cleaning up the remainder of the tree debris around the outskirts of the course and between holes. Due to winter kill on many of the greens, that element will also affect your round. Also, the clubhouse is under a major renovation right now. Make sure you pay your green fee according to these set-backs, all of which will play a roll in your booking and experience there this spring.

course is now baked-out

Have played the course a number of times this year, because I like the layout, but yesterday's round was frustrating because the course has not been properly irrigated in quite some time. As a result, tee boxes, fairways and greens are all very hard and dry. I can live with hard/dry fairways and tee boxes, but when you are hitting greens and rolling off of every single green because they are so baked-out, it gets very frustrating. You basically need to club down and land the ball in front of the green and hope for a good roll onto the green. This is not always possible because many of the greens are protected on the front and sides by penalizing bunkers.
Get a schedule of regular watering onto this course please!!
Also, the course starters need to be better trained to insure a more consistent pace of play.

lots of fun at this Collingwood area course

This 25 year old course is showing no signs of aging, except that it's probably getting better with age.

There are some blind shots, and a couple of holes that seem a bit unfair in that regard, but overall it's a great day out with lots of elevated tees, great views of the bay and smallish greens as targets.

Greens and fairways were both in great shape the day we played and the pace was good.

Good value and hope to play it again next time I'm back in the area.

great walking course with some decent challenges

Played at 2:45pm and pace was good on both North and South nine's. I would avoid the East Nine if you can, it's a little uninspired.

Hadn't played the course in 5-6 years and had forgotten how fun it was to play. Course was in great shape and the discounted rate I got on GolfNow (it was a "hot deal") made for a very satisfying golf experience.

thar she blows

Windiest round of my life.....
Whatever the MPH wind measurement is at ground level, double it for Braeben because of it's highly elevated location above the city of Mississauga. There is no protection from the wind at all on any hole, so if the wind is up, it's a real challenge to score well there.

Ball was moving (by the wind) on the greens and blowing off some tees..making for a somewhat stressful round of golf.

However, the course is quite nice, so I hope to go back and play on a less windy day.

decent short game test

good value for the money, pro shop attendant super friendly and accommodating, greens very slow, course needs cleaning up, lots of litter and garbage all around the creek that runs through the property. One has to wonder if this is the last year it will be open, that's prime land for more housing development by Kaneff.
Overall, for the price, not a bad day out.

great course maintenance, customer service needs work!

course is in great shape now that it's dried out a bit (and before the bugs arrive). Really enjoyable round except for two areas of concern:
a) was told by the starter that there was a Marshall on course to keep things on track , never saw him once the whole round..and we needed him on the back nine as it slowed down considerably.
b)The two golfers I joined had a power cart that ran out of gas on the 13th....they called in the problem to the pro shop and the problem was not dealt with in a way that emphasized customer service, resulting in the two riders carrying their bags for the rest of the round..very disappointing attitude from course staff on this point.
