The Links at Firestone Farms
Played On 08/28/2015A Must Visit Course
I have been golfing here for years and I always enjoy this course. Definitely a unique course with a great mix of difficulty. Staff is always top notch with friendliness and helpfulness. Also, speaking from experience, great place to receive golf lessons. Course is certainly well maintained. My one and only complaint about this course : the other golfers. This seems to be the only course I visit where no one fixes their ball marks on the greens. A little frustrating. Aside from that, definitely add this course to your "must visit" list.
Fort Cherry Golf Club
Played On 06/21/2015Nice course, extremely poor pace of play.
First time golfing here, really enjoyed everything about this course aside from the pace of play. The two groups ahead of us were painfully slow. The course ranger did drive past and asked us how things were going, we told him about the two groups. His response, "They're here every Sunday and they play slow as heck." It only got worse from there. The two-some ahead of us decided to let their two young kids play (maybe six or seven years old) from the 10th hole onward. I'm not exaggerating, the kids took 15+ swings per hole. I'm generally pretty patient on the course, but that was painful. Would recommend the course, but just maybe go really early on weekends, or during the week when pace of play would be better.
Stonecrest Golf Course
Played On 06/13/2015Nice course, moderately challenging.
This was my third time playing this course, and I still think it is moderately challenging. It is quite easy to get behind a tree with an errant shot. But the course was in excellent condition, greens were nearly the best I've seen all season. Staff was great. It is a dry township, so no beer available for sale. I brought my own beer, starter saw my cooler, said nothing. I'm certainly not saying the same will happen for you, but it's worth a shot... Enjoy the course (with or without beer) because it is definitely worth trying.
Moon Golf Club
Played On 06/07/2015Expensive. Never felt welcome.
Easier than most local courses. Really expensive for a local muni course. $20 for 9 holes/cart. The price certainly does not reflect the course, club house or staff. This is the only course I have frequented where I have never had a pleasant experience with the staff. Unless you are part of a weekly league, don't expect a warm welcome. I've always felt as though I was inconveniencing them. On the positive side, if you are looking for a "pick me up" round to boost your confidence, play the front nine.
East Palestine Country Club
Played On 05/30/2015Nice 9 hole course.
I enjoy this course every time I go. First 5 holes are fairly hilly, but otherwise not too difficult. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Very affordable as well. The course is a little out of the way, but I would definitely recommend.
Grassy Lane Golf Club
Played On 04/18/2015Nice small-time course
Definitely enjoy playing at this 9-hole course. I play here maybe half a dozen times a year and have yet to have a bad experience. Every year that passes, this course gets better. Would definitely recommend to any beginning golfer.
