Shingle Creek Golf Club
Played On 09/11/2023Course for Low Handicappers
Although there are many bery posit8ve things about the whole setup, including the free range balls and excellent practice areas, I only recomment this course to those with a 15 handicap or below.
Not only must one be able to drive at least 160 yards in the air, but you must do this with hreat precision.
Thete are also innumerable sand traps and sandy areas, plus a lot of water on several holes.
Those with even an 18 handicap should expect to lose a dozen golf balls and associated strokes.
But there is a rich feeling on this beautiful course.
Currently, the greens are aerated.
Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
Played On 09/06/2023Worth the Hour-Long Druve from Orlando
I've played both courses. Given my high handicap, Las Colinas is by far my favorite at the resort. Each hole is varied and nicely spaced. The course is long and it can be exhausting to play all 18 holes, but I've made the drive several times niw from Orlando. The course is a great, wide-open venue. I'll return for sure.
Renditions Golf Course
Played On 04/05/2018Excellent Challenge
This is a course one definitely needs to play at least once just to get familiar with it, not expecting to score that well during the familiarization. There was no easy hole, but no one hole was unfairly difficult and most holes are pretty wide open. Course management would be a major takeaway. for me going back a second time, which I plan to do at some point. It was extremely windy the day I played, and kind of cold. This took away from the "pleasure," but I appreciated the adventure.
ChampionsGate Golf Club - International
Played On 02/18/2018Highly Recommended for Many Reasons
First-rate operations. Beautiful clubhouse with restaurant that had fairly priced meals. Unlimited practice balls. Beautiful layout and challenges on most holes. Outstanding greens. I enjoyed more round a lot and would go back. Comparable to the Waldorf Astoria in many ways, but easier and therefore more fun for the average golfer. Shingle Creek is very good, but this course was better. More impressive.
Remington Golf Club
Played On 10/09/2017Waterlogged
The course was a swamp. But even if dry, it needs better upkeep. But it has a lot of potential - a lot of water and fairway (that plays like rough).
I don't plan on going back, but it was okay for a trial round -- I know it could be an excellent course...someday.
