Sarasota National Golf Club
Played On 02/24/2018One of the best courses in the area
Second time in a month that the round was brutally slow. Tee times are supposed to be 9 minutes apart, but the starter is pushing for 6. Also, they are 'fitting' members in where they can. At $83, I don't expect to play a round of golf taking longer than 4 1/2 hours. One par 3 had four groups on it. Ridiculous and disrespectful to the paying customer.

Don't be fooled by the posted $75 rate. It is no where near worth that.
- Pot holes on the sometimes paved, sometimes not paved cart path
- Poor drainage, wait at least two days following a rain storm to avoid puddles
- No beverage cart service on the course
Good stuff
- Home of 'Goliath' the gator
- Good value at the snack bar for the turn or afterwards

UGH, 2h35m to play the front nine. No Marshall to monitor slow play. Cart states 4h14m for 18 holes. We weren't even close.

Normally considered a top 5 course in the Port Charlotte area, the course certainly didn't live up to past experiences. The greens were in poor condition and RIDICULOUSLY slow. Hope they read and dedicate some effort to improvements.
Riverwood Golf Club

If you are on the gulf coast, don't miss Ridgewood. It is not a typical Florida golf course playing through the community's backyards. Lot's of marsh, ponds and forced carries. Five sets of tee boxes will challenge every level.
