Won't Play Again

Like many of the resort or community courses in the Orlando area, this course has a great and challenging layout, but the course conditions were rather poor, even for this time of year. Thin and spotty greens; tees and fairways that are as much weed as grass. I left the course after 12 holes because the pace of play was so bad.

Love The Course

The course layout is one of the best in Tucson. Fairways and greens are in fantastic condition. Best I've seen in 4 years. Bunkers (like just about every other course in Tucson) need some work. Not groomed, people don't rake them, very little sand. Pace of play is often slow because this is a challenging course. NO MARSHALS TO KEEP GROUPS ON PACE (my pet peeve with nearly every public course).

It’s OK

Meh! Osprey nine is significantly prettier and more challenging than the Hawk nine. Overall, it’s a decent course indecent condition.

FANTASTIC!

One of the best courses I've played. Super fun and absolutely Gorgeous. Get in and play before they restrict it to members only. The layout of the course is challenging but very fair. Unlike many Arizona courses, you do not get penalized by less than perfect shots to the fairways. The Greens may be a different story. They are large and in PRISTINE condition, but many are divided into separate levels or sections and your approach shots need to be accurate to get close to the pin. Subtle slopes affect putts much more than meets the eye. This is a MUST PLAY and worth the drive if you are in the Phoenix or Prescott area.

Thanks for your feedback and glad to hear the course and overall experience exceeded your expectations. The course offers a great mix of forgiveness off the team and some challenge on your approach shots and around the green. Definitely a MUST PLAY and we look forward to you playing with us in the future.

Needs Sand!

Everything about Bali Hai is what you would expect from a premier Vegas course, except one thing. The bunkers need sand. Actual sand, not gravel, and enough to make them playable for the average resort golfer. The bunkers with sand generally had a very thin layer on top of hard pack. With several 420+ yard par four holes and a course design which literally sucks balls into green side bunkers, it's a very tough ask to get the ball out of a 5 ft deep bunker with hard packed sand. Aside from that, it's a beautiful, fun, course. Don't be fooled by what appears to be an easy layout. It's not. The gold tees play tougher than the 125 rating on the scorecard. But DEFINITELY play this course.

Nice Course; Tough Greens

This is a nice resort course. Nothing spectacular about the course itself but some of the views are nice. A few narrow fairways, but most of them are generously wide and accessible. If the wind is up it's almost certainly a cross wind which will require some strategic aiming. The REAL difficulty on this course is on the greens. There is a 2 club difference in putting towards the mountains or towards downtown. Literally! Add to that the grain of Poana grass and deceptive sloping and it comes to a real putting challenge. Pine trees and pigeons in the desert make this a unique experience. Unfortunately what was not unique was no marshal. Our foursome played front in just under 2 hours. Ran in to a several-group "event" on 10th tee and took nearly 3 hours to play the back nine. I understand everyone has paid and has the right to enjoy their round, but courses MUST be more proactive in enforcing pace of play rules.

When you've been beaten-up and demoralized by the "premier" target golf courses in LV, this is a nice, more relaxing, but still challenging, alternative. I would definitely play again.

Disappointed

I know people love this course. It was on my bucket list for several years. Of course the property and facilities are beautiful and the staff was excellent. The course is visually stunning and I did have a great time! I played Tortolita/Saguaro from the copper tees. My disappointment lies in the fact that I thought the course was a bit too "tricked out" for most players over a single-digit handicap. Especially Tortolita. If you don't put your ball within a 5-10 yd area, the penalties are severe on the fairways and particularly on the greens. Every green has false edges and nearly every green is multi-tiered requiring extreme accuracy or ridiculously sloped and mounded putts. Only the longest hitters will clear the washes crossing most of the fairways. Forced into a layup off the tee you then face long shots in to extremely guarded greens.

In the end, there are several other courses in the Tucson area which are just as stunning, a bit more fair, in as good or better condition and 30-50% less expensive.

Lovely, Fun Course

Beautiful tree-lined holes wandering through a very nice country club neighborhood. While there is not a terrific amount of trouble for wayward shots, you may find yourself blocked out by trees or at difficult approach angles. The Tee boxes, fairways and greens were green and lush. The greens are much smaller than the other courses I've played in Tucson with a fair bit of sloping to them and subtle breaks all over the place. They were in fabulous condition, rolling true and consistent! I would definitely play here again.

Fun Course In Nice Condition

Very nice course. Interesting selection of holes with some challenges. Course condition was very good. Greens could be a touch faster, but they did roll fine, and I'm a snob when it comes to green conditions. Nice to see quality, accessible golf in Central Jersey. I would definitely play here again.

So-So

My first time to the Harrisonburg area. MAKE SURE YOU USE THE BAG DROP as it is quite the hike up from the parking lot to the clubhouse. Course was built by a family construction business and it shows. If they'd spent as much time, effort and money on the course conditions as they did and the spectacular accoutrements (stone bridges and staircases, sculptures, covered bridge, etc.) it could be a spectacular course. Condtions, especially the tees, are average muny condition at best. The greens are fair. Kudos to the staff attendant who tells you that the greens are fast putting down-valley and EXTREMELY slow putting up towards the mountain.

Packsaddle is a beautiful golf course with great views. Every year when I come to VA it is a must play! Yes it is a mountain course so if you have to walk up a hill it happens I don't know what to tell you!!!!

Huge Disappointment

When I first played this course in 2004 I remember it being in Excellent condition. Perhaps my memory is faulted, or my standards in courses has changed, but it has gone way downhill. Still one of the more interesting layouts in the area, but the greens were quite a letdown. Most were shaggy as a bad 70's carpet, bumpy and filled with bare spots. The tees were a sad mix of grass and weed. The fairways were still very nice but my true mark of a course is the quality of the greens and this course needs some real work. Won't be going back unless there's a significant change in conditions.

Fun, Challenging, Wide Open

This is a very playable course, that does present some challenges even for the better players. Very little if any trouble to get in to from the tees as the course has wide, forgiving fairways. Greens can be tricky to putt. tees and fairways in good condition and the greens were excellent. Full and fast.

Great Layout

This course has an interesting, challenging layout. The fairways are in very nice condition. However, the greens are rather poor even for this early in the season and alledgedly kept very slow throughout the year. The traps are filled with rocky sand. Could be an outstanding course with some improved conditions.
