The Links at Land's End
Played On 02/17/2017Fun little course in rural TX
Played here on Presidents Day Weekend. Came up with 9 other guys and we stayed two nights in their lodge using a stay and play voucher. I have to say that the value was great for what we got. The lodge was everything you could need and was comfortable. The course was also in great shape for the middle of Feb. Greens ran true and were a good speed. Fairways were also overseeded. The layout was a little on the short side but was definitely fun. The par 5's were reachable if you were playing the right tees. There was also an extra par 3 on the back which added some fun. The closing stretch was also a good challenge from 15-18. There was also a lot of variety with the holes and some short challenging par 4's right on the water bringing the wind into play (8 and 9). All in all, I enjoyed the course and would come back especially for the same stay and play deal. Staff was also accommodating for our group. The cart ladies were also very regular on our rounds making it easy to get drinks and food. Local tip, drive a few miles off the property and eat at Bro's Cajun.

I really enjoyed my round here. It was a nice layout and the right level of challenge. It was also a scenic course with a lot to look at. The hanging green on #8 is a one of a kind. There was a lot of elevation change so pick the right clubs particularly on the back 9 which I thought was more challenging than the front. Staff was great and the whole experience was well worth it. I would definitely come back and try to beat my score.
La Cantera Resort - The Palmer Course
Played On 09/22/2016Great Conditions, Very Challenging
I was visiting family in Austin and decided to play a round in SA. After reading reviews, we decided on the Palmer Course. All in all, this course was fantastic. Great conditions, pace of play, and surroundings were fantastic. It was a true hill country course. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is because of the number of blind shots - it just presented a little too much of a challenge for a first timer. I would imagine you need to play at least 3 times to get the lines down and feel like you can give yourself a chance to score. It was a fun course and I would absolutely play again, just temper your expectations the first time out.
Thank you for your four star review! We are pleased to hear you had a great experience at Falconhead. Come back and visit us again soon!
