Huntswood Golf Club
Played On 04/16/2021Could be better
Firstly it was a busy day and numerous 4 ball groups ahead of us and on most holes had to wait for them to finish the hole before teeing off. If you're a beginner can pretty much tee off once the group is halfway. Again don't really need the driver until the 18th 5 wood or hybrid good enough on the longer holes.
It's a challenging course in that you've got to time your shots as close proximity to other tee boxes and greens. If there's not a green on eitherside will likely be a tee next to your target hole. So be prepared to shout fore on a regular basis -
2nd time here and course not as good as last time, approached and surrounds need work some bone dry cracked - but all said still an enjoyable round and will play in the summer.
My friend was asked to produce ID as wouldn't serve anyone under 25 and both well above that was an unexpected damper - so if you look younger remember your ID

Booked a few days in advance little did I know rain was forecasted all day. Got out of the car and it came down hard with wind to boot. A 2 ball we were the only nutters out on the course. We both hit poor first tee shots. Weather aside it eventually went from hard to light rain. The course was immaculate - hardly any rough - pretty much semi rough - Thank you!! So no time wasted searching for balls in rough great pay and play for that alone. I'd compare it to Pinner Hill as the terrain is equal to the up and down the hill. Gotta take in the slope of fairways early on. Being a lefty quite a few lies were below my feet and topped several shots - so bear that in mind and compensate. I would employ extra loft on the uphill holes. My friend struggled to air his shots and I should have used my hybrid.
The greens were immaculate and hard and dry - well done green keepers great drainage balls rolled fast even on this wet day - rarely will I say this even the bunkers were good to play out of - not compacted - nice!
Will def be back for an early tee time as we lost the light with bad weather.
A great course has something for everyone

Have played several courses around the area and have to say the greens are immaculate as are the teeing areas so well done greenkeepers!! A general theme I've noticed during Covid is that many have allowed the long grass to fester and some have narrowed up their fairways but not here. It was a busy day and lost a few balls why I'm a strong advocate of cutting back long grass to semi rough if anything to speed up rate of play and avoid frustration. This was my first time here and it was a good round had to carry 1 to 2 club lengths 3 at times more to account for strong winds and elevated hole. Had to cross a few holes to get to the next ones and some tees are in very close proximity to the greens almost like greenside bunker location hidden by a row of trees but you wouldn't know until you get closer to them. So ended up using a club length shorter on slightly obscured greens purely for safety reasons and be more than proactive with shouting Fore coming back to the clubhouse as the shallow valley between holes is a magnet for balls ending up close to adjacent teeing off areas and a blindspot for players coming in opposite direction mid fairways. I'm just over emphasising the safety aspect. Still a very enjoyable pristine course with clean bunkers no fear of damaging clubs (no stones) can leave the driver behind 3,5 woods or hybrid will suffice. Wil def be back with a half set heavy on wedges. A course for all abilities!

First time played here - course was dry and straw coloured due to lack of rain and just so happened to rain on the day had it pretty much to ourselves. You can really open up and use full range of clubs here. greens were good as were tee boxes. decent doglegs play straight but shaping shots too tempting not too! Drivers were very considerate crossing over other than a few people taking selfies on the last hole and a person in flip flops taking a call on 15th tee.
Very drivable but opted for 3 wood for placement . We were a 2 ball and hardly anyone in front or behind us - good thing about this place hardly any rough but on fringes then you're in the trees lost only 1 ball - the rough n long grass that is there is still playable nothing that a solid 9 or 5 iron can't handle. I'd like to go back soon and see it in shades of green. We were unsure if the clubhouse was open for drinks as it seemed deserted have to go upstairs. I've heard numerous times this place was up for sale - has potential to make it more inviting as first impressions you face a blank white wall like a backend of a workshop - nit-picking details but...
Very playable holes - 3rd hole first across the road requires a very selective shot as does the hole across the pond and can switch off and have an easy day

Played On 07/17/2020Been wanting to play here for sometime and pleasantly surprised didn't lose a ball at all here - open very picturesque has a monopoly on water features not just a small ponds but along fairways were a little lost going to a few holes a lil more directions would help but nothing major. Tempted to take up membership - have had lessons here with Ben also top class and the range has so many targets to improve your game and not just mats but outside too. The course feels like a microclimate so close to the M4 and Heathrow. SKip Stockley park and come here

The course could do with a few patrols - one of the shocking things I've seen was a family having a picnic right behind the green - improve the signs just a bit more TLC would improve the experience.
For the price you can't knock it - 9/10 will find lost balls so good for beginners recommend playing here than say at Ruislip after a few rounds - don't be afraid of the banks can use them to your advantage and gain a few shots.
This time round I played with a half set, driver, 5wood, hybrid, 6, PW, 50,56 P.
Can't go wrong with the hot deals - but purlease go round and patrol!
Wexham Park Golf Centre - Blue Course
Played On 05/22/2017Just outside London great value
Wide fairways a few dog legs a good drive and can go over the trees and a save a shot.
If you've played at Uxbridge or Stockley Park I would highly recommend playing at Wexham Park. The range is better than Stockley Park but don't try and over hit your woods as the balls are distance limited than most other ranges! Better for irons though.
Played with a half set and wedges was occasionally left short could have done with more club pitching would have been ideal.
Give it a go

One of the best views around, as a non handicapped player the course was pristine and lost balls were easily located as to not hold up play. Brush up on driving or 3 wood is a must else take a few extra irons shots to the approach - I managed it in 91, putting let me down but very enjoyable greens. Staff were extremely helpful. A great course - just don't tell everyone about it!
Check out the club's website has a nice breakdown of each hole
