Lakes at Sandridge Golf Club
Played On 06/07/2019Great course and great conditions. Challenging enough with a lot of water and sand but a little forgiving with some wide fairways.
Greens appeared to be aerated a few weeks ago but rolled nice and true. Like the FF (assume that meant Family Friendly) tees in fairway for my 11 yr old son to tee off.
Canyon/Lakes at Spanish Trail Country Club
Played On 11/03/2014Nice Course for the Money
Very nice course in a semi-private Country Club atmosphere. Was looking for a desert course, which this is not, but had some very nice views with Mountains on horizon. Lakes course was still growing from overseed and fairways/tee boxes were a little furry and needed a trim. I paid $39 on golf now while the guys I was paired up paid $135. Great course for $39 but would have been a little disappointed at $135 given I was looking for a course in the desert and overseeding.
River Oaks Golf Club
Played On 10/12/2014Good value and conditions
If you are looking for an average course layout with good fairways and greens, this is a good value. I played here because it was 10mins from my hotel and $35 on Golfnow. Otter was nothing special but Fox course had some character.
Each 9 holes is about 3300 yards from the tips, so it is a good course to play with the wife or high handicappers, as they have 5 sets of tees.
Bridlewood Golf Club
Played On 07/13/2014Great conditions.. Best greens anywhere!
Although they are going to punch the greens in a few weeks, these are the best greens I have ever played... Fast and true... Pristine condition. Course in overall great shape.
Front 9 had little character with a lot straight holes, little trouble, and wide fairways. Back 9 had more character with dogleg, fairway traps and a hole or two where the water actually came into play.
I am from SC and tried to find a great course for the money.... This and Indian Creek (Creek course) were really good and above average, but not great.
Staff was very friendly and lunch was great.
Only downside was the 5 Hr round because of a red/white/blue tourney scheduled that none of the staff seemed to know about. . Once they finished we breezed thru.
Shadowmoss Plantation Golf Club
Played On 6/16/2013Pace of play is ridiculously slow
Great conditions (fairways were great, greens were fast, a few tee boxes needed some more growth, holes freshly cut and painted) except a little water in some bunkers due to recent rain, but pace of play was solo slow that every tee had TWO foursome groups waiting. There wasn't a Marshall on the course to sped up play and unfortunately this isn't abnormal for Shadowmoss because they double-tee in the AM to get as many people on the course as possible.
The Club at Pine Forest
Played On 5/19/2013Conditions much improved!!!
Fairways hard and lots of roll due to lack of rain. Greens are much improved from 6-12months ago but still need some work (B-). Great course layout - played many times and will return more often now that green conditions are better.
Legend Oaks Golf Club
Played On 2/2/2013No over-seeding but decent
Had a 1pm tee time that was delayed an hour due to early AM frost. Starter had a difficult time working the member blitz (shotgun start that started on 1, 2, 3, etc vs 18, 17, 16, etc) into the mix so he just pushed back all the tee times and had 6 groups waiting by the side while all members came through. I understand frost was the issue, but if they would have shot gunned correctly there wouldn't have been any delay.
Overall course in decent shape for Feb with no overseeing and painted greens. Typically is a great place to play for the money.
Crowfield Golf & Country Club
Played On 1/5/2013One of the best courses in Charleston
One of the best courses in Charleston but out of the way of normal traffic. This time of year, greens were a little bumpy because they didn't oversees but they rolled pretty try and FAST. Fairways and bunkers in good shape despite the recent rain.
Mallards Landing Golf Course at Melbourne
Played On 11/22/2012Good for the money but not challenging
City owned course that is good to play for the money but not extremely challenging - there are a few good holes but overall is very forgiving and not a lot of trouble. The course is having some trouble with the greens (temp green on #1 and bare spotting throughout ~10 others). If you are looking for a challenge, don't go here or Cranes Creek (both City courses) but instead visit Habitat or Walkabout. If you just want to hit the ball around, this is a good course to visit. Staff (Jeff is he Course Pro) was VERY friendly and great.
