Forest Oaks Golf Club
Played On 02/26/2019Nice Compact Course
The course is shorter than most, which works for my limited skills. The course condition is not great, but okay. The greens are in pretty good shape, fairways a bit less so. Staff is friendly and helpful. The clubhouse is old and pretty worn, could use help.
Madison Green Country Club
Played On 02/13/2018Nice, but.....
The course appears to be in need of better grooming. Weeds and some worn spots abound. The greens are pocked with brown spots from balls striking them. There are a fair number of water hazards on the course, that, shouldn't be a huge issue except that they sit very low and the fairway and rough drops sharply to the water. Any ball hit a bit off course will find itself rolling rapidly into the water, thus narrowing the effective width of the fairways.
The electric powered carts have very useful GPS systems, the staff was great, and the club house was very pleasant for post play relaxation.
On balance it was a good experience, but some TLC needed.
Sandhill Crane Golf Club - Championship Golf Course
Played On 10/31/2016Superior Public Course
This is a very well-maintained public course. They tore down the old clubhouse and will be building a new one. Food and beverages are served at a makeshift arrangement with a very nice deck that's covered. As a result, there is a limited number of items one can order.
Rates have just gone up from the mid 30s to the mid 50s which is making it much more expensive to play there. However, on balance this is a very good course to play.
Palm Beach Golf Course
Played On 06/16/2015Great Place for Fast Round
This is a great, well kept course, with part facing the ocean, and part facing the Intracoastal. Leave your driver and woods home. The course affords an opportunity to work with your irons and putter. The par 3 nature of the course makes for a roughly 2 hour round.
The clubhouse is new and Al Fresco Restaurant, on the upper level, is first class. The food is great, as is the view of the ocean and golf course.
Atlantis Country Club
Played On 06/10/2015Good Course.
Wide forgiving fairways, but plenty of sand and trees on the flanks. Some water, but generally not a problem. Fairways and greens in good shape, but the cart paths going over the handful of water crossings need work to make smoother.
They have a full bar, but It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, in the off-season.
The bag drop is a bit weird. You pull up to an unattended area, ring a doorbell...some minutes later someone shows up to take your clubs. Not very welcoming.
Atlantic National Golf Club
Played On 05/19/2015Well Maintained Course
Lots of water, and sand traps add to the fun. The fairways and greens were in good condition. The pro shop and restaurant are attractive and the staff was very helpful. The electric carts are a bit battered, but the GPS systems are superior.
