I played this course 15 years ago when course conditions were not very good. That has all changed. The greens were great and consistent, the fairways were good, and I forgot how fun this course is to play. Half of the holes are flat with water challenges, the other half have “terrain” to deal with. Holes 7,8,9,14, thru 18 are on the hillside and have elevation challenges. Enjoy!! The gals in the pro shop were great and friendly, but couldn’t really provide course play helpful hints. I look forward to playing this course again.

First time playing the Lakes course, I played the Ranch course 2 days ago. This course is obviously flatter, more water, and 300 yards shorter (from the blue tees) than the Ranch course. The biggest difference is the quality and condition of the greens. The Lakes course greens were perfect, with consistent conditions for all 18 holes. Both courses are fun to play and offer different challenges. The Lakes course has a larger clubhouse, pro shop, bar, etc. The staff at both places were great!! Have fun.

This is a historic old course nestled in the heart of Palm Desert. The course is in great shape with fast smooth greens, nice fairways, and consistent rough. They course plays just under 5,400 yards from the back tees, is a little tight, and nice variety of hole designs. The bunkers are well maintained and there is some water to add to the challenge. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We enjoy playing this course.

This was my first time playing the Ranch course at Genoa Lakes. It was a fun experience and the entire staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I missed out on the spectacular views as the California wildfire smoke had filled the Carson Valley ( this is not the fault of the golf course). The fairways were green and well maintained, the sand traps didn’t have any fluff to them, the greens had a variety of grasses and patches so putting was bumpy and hard to gauge. Since this course is on “the side of the Sierra Mountain Range”, EVERYTHING!! rolls towards the valley. You could have a 2’ break in a 6’ putt, but this just added to the adventure and we were forewarned by the club house pro and starter. This course could be spectacular when the smoke disappears and the greens roll a little more consistently. I will play this course again.

Beautiful grounds & setting, open fairways, challenging layout, friendly staff. Greens were slower than I expected. Would like to play the course again.
