Top end of the Muni's

This is fun course. The front nine is pretty straightforward. The teeth come out in the back 9.

At times the greens can be a little rough, some are struggling with Poa Annua growing in. But, generally they are in good shape.

One annoyance here is the clubhouse continues to grow more intrusive. A couple months ago, they began requiring signatures for some sort of legal agreement on the first tee. Last time out I saw the started making an eight year old boy sign this agreement. I'm used to places requiring a cart agreement to be signed, but here they require walkers to sign too.

I also found that they do not make adjustments to walking rate at the course. Despite the fact that they do not offer walking rate tee times, they do not adjust down to walking rate at the course.

Resort prices, Muni conditions

I hadn't played Harding in 3 or 4 years, as I consider it overpriced for what it is. Since it is now managed as TPC course, I thought I would give it another change.

What I found was the same old course. The course itself is quite good, and the mature trees are signature San Francisco golf. The rough is extremely sticky and if you touch the trees at all, it kills your ball - there is no slipping through those beasts.

If you are a San Francisco resident, this is a good deal. For anyone else it's very overpriced. The greens were heavily pocked up, enough that it effected many putts. If this were a normal Muni, I wouldn't think twice about it. But, at the prices Harding charges, it's not what I expect. There are quite a few courses in the area that cost half as much and have better greens.

Pretty good course. Ridiculously slow on weekends.

Not a bad course, fun and interesting. Greens are well maintained for a muni.

The HUGE drawback here is the ridiculously bad pace of play on weekends. They don´t have rangers, so I stopped in the clubhouse after my round to let them know how bad things were that day. The person at the desk informed me that SIX HOUR rounds are normal there on weekends.

Won´t be going back there.
