A nice round.

Was a very warm November Friday. Course was expectedly crowded. Pace of play was slowed, but it was still a most enjoyable round of golf. Hard ground conditions nurtured some fabulous roll outs on the fairways. Great day at an affordable price.

Great Muni Course

My first time playing Mich. City South and I was not disappointed. I had an idea the course would rate highly after playing the North Course frequently over the past 4 years. Perfectly mowed fairways and first cut roughs, which were also green, not burned out and hardened from lack of water. Greens were of the same caliber in condition. This is a very nice municipal course, try it sometime if you are in the area. Course wasn't extremely challenging, which was just fine for my game. Conditions probably weigh most heavy in my mind, anyway, having played some real "cow pastures" locally. Got behind a very slow foursome, and I was playing as a single. It was a Tuesday mid-day, so this lowered my Pace Rating. But just when this slowing began to get annoying and things were beginning to get stacked up, all of us who were stuck behind joined together to finish our rounds. Met some nice folks and really enjoyed the finish. Six of us and we were still quicker than the four in front of us.....oh well. Had a good time in the end. Give Mich. City (either North or South) a try. I think you'll be delightfully surprised, and GolfNow has some great deals going right now.

Nice course

Played Beechwood for the first time ever today. Hot Deal at GolfNow for $10. Booking was for 1 golfer only, but got paired up at the course. Then my pair got paired again to make a 4some. Two would have been plenty, as our play was woefully slow. We were really holding up everyone until 2 of us decided to break free, which got everything moving properly. Nice course, good layout, good variety of holes. I give it 4 stars. It doesn't blow your socks off, but it is decent, and fun to play. I would surely come back again.

A Fair Course at best...

Tried Cardinal for the first time. Drove almost 50 miles. There are much better courses closer to me. Got a nice deal from GolfNow, but there are still nicer courses with equally good deals that are closer to me. There are 27 holes here (three nines), so you would think there would be no waiting issues, especially on a weekday, but we managed to get behind two very slow foursomes which caused an almost 3 hour round for nine holes! Not good. Our second nine went much quicker, as we were no longer behind the slowpokes, having been placed on a different nine than they were. We would have done this ourselves anyway, just to avoid them at all cost. No rangers in sight all day! This nine took only one and a half hours, and we were courteously waved to play through by a very nice group of young women golfers (4). The nines are laid out kind of funny in spots, as well, with golfers on a different nine seemingly coming right at you on occasions, and golfers in carts crossing your fairway, as they play their hole from a different nine. You will need to mind the course map so as not to get on a different nine by mistake. Can be confusing at times. The greens were well watered and maintained, but the fairways....well, there really was NO difference from fairway to rough, as it was all just the same grass in length and texture. And there is just simply too much clover and what I call ground ivy here. My friend lost several balls because of clover camoflage, and that thick ivy-like growth just grabs clubs and causes poor shots. It is not a terrible track, but there are many that are better for the same amount of money. The bar and Pro shop were quite nice, but that only allows for one star, so I give Cardinal Creek two stars. I will probably not come back.

First Time Very Very Nice ! !

While only living a few miles from Aberdeen, I somehow never managed to get out and play this gem of a golf course. Could be that since I am only playing for a few years, that I thought it would be too challenging for me. Well today I played it for the first time. It is indeed a very, very nice course that is also challenging, but not overwhelmingly so. Choose a tee box that fits your game, and enjoy the challenges that await you. From the grounds to the course itself, all is topnotch. Well kept, and well maintained are the keywords here. And all of the facilities are superb. My tee time booking came with complimentary range balls, which was a very nice touch, affording me a chance to limber up my swing and warm up a bit. One can hit as many or as few balls as one likes. The staff was very friendly, courteous, and most accommodating. I did not order any food, but the ice cold beer at the end of my round while relaxing on the patio was mighty tasty and refreshing. Pro shop also looked well stocked, if you need anything to fill your golf bag. Thank you to all at Aberdeen for making my first experience a 10 out of 10 ! ! ! Will definitely be back again more often.

Creekside 9 or 12

I play this course quite frequently, and I enjoy it. There is something for everyone here. The various tee boxes allow one to really mix it up as to what a hole will play like. I also like the fact that a 9 hole booking now means one can play 12 if one so chooses.
Before you had to add the 3 extra holes. Great course that will make you think about your next shot, always in very good shape. Courteous staff, and great value when booking through GolfNow. By choosing a HotDeal tee time, I basically had my spot all to myself; no one in front of me, and no one immediately behind me. Allowed me to take my time and work on a few things in my game. Would recommend this course to anyone looking for a challenge and an enjoyable round of golf.

Fine course at a good value.

Really enjoy playing here, with tees that fit one's skill level. Shot my two best rounds for 18 holes here, both 94. Gives the beginner a chance to score well, as well as the more experienced golfer. Nice mix of challenging versus more straightforward holes. #15 and #17 are quite challenging, indeed, making you think about your plan of attack. Doglegs, short and long par 3s, some water holes, good mix of everything generally. Course is always well-maintained, and surpasses several other local courses that cost more to play. Staff is always courteous and accomodating. Give Duck Creek a try, and enjoy your round.
