A top SW Fla public track

I am a member of a private club back in my home of NY. This course made you feel like you were about to play a quality private club from the moment we pulled up to the bag drop where upon greeted by a very friendly and attentive bag attendant. From the impressive clubhouse to the well stocked pro shop where my playing partner needed to rent a quality set of clubs. On the course as we played from the middle tees to manicured greens it was not only challenging but fair setup for my type of high handicap play.

This course is a great public facility

The one down side, was that I really didn't experience the quality of the greens. On the day I played, greens were recently aerated and had the sand all over. But, they were very playable. Enjoyed the GPS in the cart, and the choices one got from the application to view a number of different options. What I mean, you have an interactive screen, whereby one can point to a spot and the GPS will give you the yardage to that spot, from where the cart is parked. There were a lot of very fair holes for and some that challenge your nerve to get around water hazards. I have played a couple of Paul Azinger designs in Fla.I would rate this as one of my favorites. On the day we played, was quite warm, and there was plenty of water available. We were early for our tee time, but the pro said to go right out ,and we never experienced the practice facility. But it did look very adequate.

A fair test for the average or below average golfer

The day we played, the course was not very busy. As the course is surrounded by residential homes, it appeared that a good portion of the residents were gone for the summer. We were greeted by a very friendly employee at the pro shop, which of course makes you feel like your important to them and their business. I have encountered some other courses in the off season, where the staff appears to not be happy to opening up their course to outsiders. Being an executive style course, your going to get mostly par 3's. As a 17 handicap, I tried to make the most of it by playing from the tips. Especially making more of a challenge on the 3's. There were nice driver holes too, and set up for both fading and drawing the ball. All in all I will probably go back, next time I'm visiting the area, especially if I see a value on golf now.

Course maintained a wide variety of options, from numerous tee locations to choice of green options.

This course advertised a professional reputation and association and delivered on all. Excellant practice facility, next time I play there will get there much before my tee to take advantage of.
