Settlers' Ghost Golf Club
Played On 08/23/2020Blind off the tee
Several holes take advantage of the hilly terrain which makes the scenery enjoyable, but there were too many holes where you're hitting blind. Had to use the picture on the scorecard to try to figure out what hazards (including golfers from other holes from neighbouring fairways) might be out past 200 yards from the tees. I found myself having to drive up the fairway too often to take a peek to figure out the landing areas. A couple of tees actually have you hitting over/near other greens. Speaking of greens, although I enjoyed the undulations and tiers of most of the greens, there were several greens that had scars around the hole...annoying. Some of the regulars might want to fix their ball marks more often. Staff was very accommodating, but I'm not sure I'll ever make the drive north from Toronto again for that price.
Cardinal 18 Golf Club
Played On 07/02/2020Challenging Off the Tee
Narrow fairways, and water and bush that eat errant tee shots make this course a challenge off the tee. Playing from the fairways was excellent, and they were in great shape considering the dry weather we've experienced in June and early July. The greens were in great shape (except for an occasional hole) and the only complaint I have is the off-road buggy ride you have to take as you meander around the course on the cart paths. It is worth the drive north if you want a challlenge!
Lakeridge Links Golf Course
Played On 06/20/2018Greens are in rough shape!
Blame it on the course maintenance crew, or the lack of respect by the clientel, but every green was pockmarked as much as Gary Leeman's mug! Ants, ball marks, difficult pin placements...I don't putt like Jordan Speith, but even he would had a few 3 putts on these greens! Shape up or I'm shipping out.
