This course was recommended by a fellow foursome we met in Orlando. Our foursome were under welmed at the east west course. The greens were slowish. The layout uninteresting and unimaginative. It’s probably are worthy track if you’re fresh off the plane and haven’t played in a couple of months. It doesn’t compare very favourably with other golf courses in the same price range.

Every time our foursome comes to Orlando we make sure Southern Dunes is in the rotation and usually we do a double header. I don’t know who the architect was but he did a great job. Every hole has its own challenges and no two are alike. Lots of elevation changes here. Despite some the recovering diseased greens they were running fast and true. We’re never disappointed here.

This Nicklaus design is rather boring and unimaginative. Wide fairways, small rolling greens. A few interesting holes but overall quite a yawner. Don’t let the hype fool you.

Tom Watson has done a great job here. Plenty of interest. No two holes are alike and the par threes are really well done. Greens were in fine shape. The course has a great practice facility so. One early and take full advantage. The only drawback k is the price. At $175 I’d say it’s over priced by 50 bucks or so. I’d love to play it again but it’s price prohibitive for me.
