There has been no rain in this region since June. Please bring this course rain, fertilizer, lots of grass seed and a miracle, because the fairways are dead. The course greens are in fantastic shape, as they still water them. The practice range was in good shape. The staff has always been friendly.
The Refuge Golf Course

Tee boxes were nice with minor level issues. Fairways were in great shape. The fringe is cut tight and crisp around the greens. All the greens on the course were in phenomenal shape and rolled true. This course is FLAT, easy to play if you plot your next shot correctly.
Old Hickory Golf Club

Old Hickory is looking rough. Fairways are balding, dry and lacking turf. I hit 79% of fairways that day. Course needs a lot of seed placement in the fairways and water. A couple of the fairways are in great shape, but most need some attention. Greens were ok, and appeared to have been punched recently. I play here a lot and enjoy the course, but all the tournaments have taken a toll on Old Hickory.

Great short course to play. Pace of play can get slow, but the fairways and greens are worth it. Bunkers were nice as well.

New bunkers! Totally new and best sand in NOVA! Greens are good and fairways are trimmed close. Course has improved.
Old Hickory Golf Club

Stonewall Golf Club at Lake Manassas

1st time playing stonewall. It’s a great layout, pace of play can get backed up. Bunkers need to be cleaned out, there are some rocks in ALL the bunkers.

Laurel Hill always impresses. Bunkers are well maintained and the course is consistently in a great playable condition.

Great course, hidden gem in DC! Greens are great. I cannot speak of the bunkers, as I didn’t land in any. Go golf it!!

Old Hickory Golf Club

Seems like management cares about bringing back Old Hickory. It’s looking good. Lot of work being done. Fairways are in nice shape. Bunkers still need time work. Greens are WAY better than last year.
Bristow Manor Golf Club

Bristow Manor consistently has the best greens and fairways in the area. However, over this past season, I have noticed their bunkers contain some large rocks. Even boulders. Overall, the course is kept up and a great place to play. Just beware of hitting out of the bunkers.
