Longbow Golf Club
Played On 07/04/2017Course in rough condition and sand traps need a TON of work
I've played this course several times and continue to come back due to the layout and course design. However, I played on July 4th and was very disappointed. I know it's summer and its hard to keep a course in good condition but it was very burnt out and needed work. In addition, the sand traps right now are complete garbage. They don't have any sand in them and are worse than even hitting out of the desert. I keep an old club in my bag to use in desert/rocky areas and ended up using this club in the sand in fear of what the traps would do to my sand wedge.
Aside from the poor conditions, I felt the day was well run. Due to the holiday, they had a shot gun start at 7am in order to allow the staff to enjoy the later part of the day. It made the round slower than usual and a bit frustrating due to the extreme heat but not terrible.
We will be back to play this course and would recommend it to family and friends but I REALLY hope the course management will fix the sand issues. If this continues to be a problem, my recommendation answer would change and I will stop playing there.

Played On 12/28/2016Fantastic Layout but Poor Green Conditions
Course layout was fantastic and fairways were in good shape. However, the greens were pitted but not from pitch marks. It was almost like the greens diseased. Practice green was the same way. You could never get a true roll. Everything else was great! There were nice mountain/foothills views and staff was very friendly.

Played On 11/25/2016Overpriced course due to location
This was an average Arizona course but unfortunately overpriced due to Scottsdale location. Course in general was fairly easy and decently taken care of. The front nine is very flat and holes are on top of each other. The back nine opens up a bit and has some elevation changes. If you were to walk this course, you would want to stick to the front nine. The back nine has some very long drives from hole to hole. This course would probably be half the price if located in any other city in the valley.

Played On 11/23/2016Typical Arizona Course that needs a little work
This was the kind of course that you could tell used to be taken care of well but has gone down hill. However, the price was good for the quality of course this time of year. Course is slow for the first 2 holes but then opens right up. This course could be really nice if they took care of it a little more. The grass conditions were not great in the fairways. Greens were actually decent.

Played On 11/20/2016Good course with some challenge in the Arizona Mountains
Overall this course is in the good shape and was a fun round to play. It has a good mix of challenging and open holes. There were several picturesque holes in the Desert Mountains. Course knowledge is key when playing this course. There are a lot of blind shots. Greens were in good shape, running fast but difficult to read. The course recently just allowed a 90 degree cart rule after their overseed and unfortunately you could tell. They might have wanted to hold off on any carts on the fairway for a bit longer. However, in their defense, the course would have been difficult to play with cart path only. Pace of play was excellent. Gold tee boxes were unlevel and heavily diveted for a majority of the holes. There were several fairway patches that did not take well to the overseed but did not necessarily affect play.

Played On 11/19/2016A true hidden gem!!
This is a great course!! Conditions were incredible especially since they were just coming out of the overseed. Cart Path only can be a bare but that still didn't stop us from ending 20 minutes ahead of recommended pace. Living in the Southeast valley makes this course very convenient as well but would recommend to anyone in the valley even with the longer drive. In addition to course conditions, the amenities on the course are also always top notch. Having actual personal water bottles on every third whole may not seem like a big deal but it really makes a difference when thinking about what other courses offer. There is a dairy farm nearby that can sometimes offer some interesting odors but its not overwhelming. Price is also great given the conditions!

Played On 05/22/2016Great Course, slow play
The course was in good condition and enjoyed the round. I played with just my husband so pace was fantastic on the front nine, finished in 1:30. However, as soon as we hit the 12th hole, it was a jam. the back nine took almost 3 hours. We later found out that Rangers aren't on the course this time of year so we were supposed to call if pace was slow. We will definitely go back but know now that we have to call the pro shop if there are slow players, they aren't automatically on the course.

Played On 05/15/2016True Desert Course
It was a great morning of golf and really a beautiful course! It was somewhat challenging but fair. Pace of play was decent especially for a Sunday morning. Tons of small wildlife on the course (ground squirrels, roadrunners, lizards, even a rattlesnake!). I would definitely go back and play again.

Played On 05/14/2016Beautiful Desert Course!
This course was absolutely beautiful and a fun course to play! It had some challenging holes but the layout made them interesting. There were 360 degree views from almost every hole of the Arizona desert and mountains. The staff was very friendly. This course can be a bit a pricey but if you are coming from our of town it is definitely worth paying the money. Arizona resident rates is very reasonable.
So you still played in under 4.5 hours....sounds like a reasonable pace.
