Great day at the course. Play was pretty slow though not unexpected with the overall difficulties on the course. Some difficult to judge angles, very elevated greens and very challenging putting on the greens. The course played fairly, though it is a continuous challenge.

Very hot day. Course was in great shape and not very busy on a Friday afternoon. Beautiful course design. Lots of visually challenging tee shots with a lot of fairway bunkering. There are a good number of short and long par fours. The greens also have a lot of contouring as you would expect from an Arthur Hills design. There is a ton of residential development occurring on the back nine although it was not disruptive to the experience. Greens were pretty quick. Highly recommended.

Very nice day. Great weather for late December. Relatively small greens. Tricky, small bunkers all over made for some difficult recoveries. Overall excellent course and I look forward to returning in the spring.

Overall it was a great experience. The course was in generally great shape although there were too many unrepaired ball marks. Due to recent rains the greens were generally soft and shots into the greens made marks. Too many people left their marks unrepaired. The greens were generally pretty speedy and putted well even with the ball marks. A very, very nice layout.

We played late on a rainy Saturday afternoon. My son had played here once before so he was able to help guide me around a bit. It’s a fairly difficult course but I would say it’s very fair. There are a variety of difficult challenges but you can generally see them pretty well. My one negative comment is that there were a lot of divots that seem to be slow in recovering. I definitely look forward to coming back again! All of the holes are very pleasing to the eye.

Very interesting course. We were helped on the front nine by playing with members who only were playing nine holes. There are a decent number of holes where it is very difficult to judge where to hit your tee shot. That was a challenge on number 14 where I hit my drive perfectly, I thought but I was blocked out by a double dog leg and tall trees. Overall though, a very nice course and good value.

Maryland National is a beautiful course. Fairways were in outstanding shape. Since only a week or so removed from aeration of the greens, they were a bit hairy, but overall they putted fine, though slow. The practice facilities were great. Food from the bar at the turn was very good and reasonably priced. The GPS system was very helpful and seemed to very accurately indicate the distance to the PINS based on comparison to my laser. I very much look forward to returning with my son.

Course was in very good shape for time of year. Fairways were on the very soft side, plugged several tee shots in the fairways, including one lost ball. Greens rolled very well, although they were frozen about 1/2 inch or so below the surface, which made for some bounces and extended rolls on high shots into the greens. But, for the time of year, the overall experience was great.

For the time of the year, early October, conditions were excellent. A significant issue was the prevalence of gnats - they were very disturbing, and present through most of the afternoon to early evening round. The GPS units were not highly useful in deciding how to play off the tees on some of the holes due to some challenging fairways to hit to. Some of the difficulties were due to fairways at angles where it was difficult to judge how far the near and far edges of the fairways were that were running at a significant angle - for example the 1st hole. Another difficulty was due to some fairways where you couldn't see the landing area from the tee due to an angle, as well as a significant elevation change off the tee. Overall though, the course was a great challenge, in very good condition, and an excellent value at $35 a player. It is definitely worth paying $60 or so, if that fits your budget, considering the outstanding qualities of the course.

The layout was one of the best I have played; great variety in the hole lengths and types. The greens were a little rough, but for winter they were fine. Fairways, rough fine shape. 15-20 mph winds made the course play very long and hard. Will definitely return.

Very challenging course. Overall great shape. Greens were in fine shape, although some of the pin positions were very difficult, caused frequent three putting in our group. Overall excellent value, but very unforgiving at times.
