About
A significant number golfers who score in the 80's don't think that's good enough. Same for those scoring 110.Golf is bigger then the game. It teaches patience, focus and sharpens analytic skills. It's also a great way to get out into nature. I'm still trying to break 100 but I enjoy the broader experience so I keep playing.

Bunkers are shot. Off Fairway areas like construction zones. The carts are bumper cars gone wild. The greens were actually ok This place is obviously going under.
Lakes/Fairways at Centennial Golf Club
Played On 06/17/2020This course is just plain dangerous
I played the Lakes Course. The cart paths on 3 front nine holes are extremely dangerous and unfit for motorized travel. The course apparently think that putting up warning signs somehow insulates them from liability-t doesn't. There are some things so dangerous that no amount of warnings will transform a person's negligence into acceptable behavior with a few signs The public are not experts who have evaluated forensically the paths, their angle etc. The public relies upon you to look out for the safety of paying guests. Not only are the steep angles an unacceptable hazard , but these paths are slippery even when bone dry. Also, the paths are banked the wrong way, The sections I refer to need to be regraded and resurfaced -they are unsafe at any speed. The Lakes course is very difficult-at least the front nine in fact it may be unfairly difficult. On many holes you are surrounded by trouble and you need to be a long hitter to keep your score low. Fairways were in good shape as were the greens. Gas carts smelled of exhaust . Staff were very nice

It's amazing how much better you hit the ball when it is on a perfect surface/ This course has perfect Fairways from one end to the other. Medium narrow Fairways in some spots, rolling Fairways on many holes (think Player Course at Lyman Orchards). The greens are hard, undulating in spots like a miniature golf course. Free bottled water at several holes. Special holes feature elevated greens, blind doglegs and a blend of Links and traditional American layouts. A very nice staff round out the experience. I only played nine holes and it was the best I've played EVER. One drawback: gas golf carts!

A pretty challenging course, uncrowded and well kept.
James Baird State Park Golf Course
Played On 07/02/2015A hybrid Links
Moderate number of hazards and many rolling sloping fairways. Follow the Fairways they are like highways winding, dipping, rising and turning on several holes. Very long par threes on several holes (one has you going across a large lilly pond with a crooked dog leg left to an elevated green. Note: unbelievably they have no handicap flags, or so I was told ...and it's a State Park!!
The Links At Union Vale

simple: tough course. a few very long carries. Some elevated greens-one sourrounded by huge, steep sand bunkers. you need to follow the winding fairway or else you'll feel lke you've played all day....but i'm a high handicapper..should have played from the gold.
Woodbridge Country Club

The staff is great which is more than I can say for a lot of golf courses. The course is totally funky and challenging. Not for beginners. Narrow. Tough green placement. Great pace of play and facilities.

I've played this course a dozen or more times. My complaint: the staff is not all that welcoming. It's one of those 'we're doing you a favor taking your money and lettting you play here.' Nonethelsee, it is a nice course.
