Deltona Club
Played On 03/19/2017Previously Overlooked, Never Again
This course has been around forever, and as a lifelong resident of the Orlando area, I have never made the trip up I4 to play this course. Totally different golf than what you will find in Central Florida, with big undulations, lots of waste sand, and wide open. Fun course that is a great value for the money. I thought the greens were in great condition and very large, fairways were fine, and tee boxes good too. Usually waste areas have some kind of dumpy sand and all kinds of debris in them, but this place had good quality sand that you could get a club on. You know you are in for a treat in Florida when the course has gas carts.
PGA National Resort - Palmer Course
Played On 08/23/2015The King's Course
That Arnold Palmer, he made this with the experienced golfer in mind. A very difficult track, but rewards with great shots. Be prepared to shape shots off the tee, and play it left to right. The 18th hole is a nightmare if you are playing bad, but it can also be the cherry on top of a great round on a great course. Fairways are pretty open, but must be precise into the greens and the rough is very capable of drowning a golf ball. Some of the best greens I have played. To The King!
PGA National Resort - Champion Course
Played On 08/22/2015Felt Like a Pro
Played this course over the past weekend and was so excited to tee it up where the pros play every year. We played the middle tees, and it was a good idea as I can see this course being very long, thus the championship caliber. Couldn't ask for a course in better shape and for being the prime track at the resort, there was little to no traffic. Bear Trap is a great experience, though for my money the 18th hole is just as difficult. Finishing the round right in the front of the great facilities at PGA National was a real treat and very special experience. Will definitely be back.
PGA National Resort & Spa - Squire Course
Played On 08/21/2015Named For a Squire but Fit for a King
This course was excellent. Played three courses over the weekend at PGA National and this was my favorite. Wide fairways offer ease of tee shots, though you must shape the ball off some of them. Great greens that rolled very well in the afternoon heat. Not the most scenic, but do not skip this course when going to PGA National.
