Great for a quick round

Course is in excellent shape right now so if you are short on time and want a quick round, head out for 18 on a relatively easy executive course.

Short course for a relaxing time

Course was short and is right by the airport so lots of aircraft noise, but also an opportunity to watch the planes take off and land during the round.

Recommended to practice those short irons and have a relaxing time. Afternoon weekday pace of play was great and the course is pretty easy. Not much room to get into trouble anywhere and greens were in average condition.

Memorable course that was in great condition.

Played both the Mountain and Canyon courses at Ventana over consecutive days as a guest of the Loews Ventana Resort.

The Mountain was a little more scenic, but I preferred the Canyon course in terms of play. Both were in terrific shape with lush fairways and fast greens.

Was paired with great people (I was there as as single), including some members with the all important local knowledge! Pace of play was excellent with next to no waiting on any hole due to the 10 minute gaps in tee times.

Found the staff to be helpful and friendly, and would definitely return to play both courses again. Make sure you bring your camera as some of the views of the mountain ranges and cactus forests are spectacular.

Great day out

Thought I'd give this course a go as I'd never played it before and was in the area.

Played as a single on a Tuesday around noon and didn't have to wait or feel rushed by anyone behind or in front. Greens were in pretty decent shape and whilst the course wasn't particularly challenging, it did allow a few opportunities to drive a few greens which is always fun.

One thing to note - although this is an 18 hole course it is a little shorter than I'm used to. Just something to be aware of as it surprised me a little to realize after I'd started.

Definitely worth a look if you are in the area with friendly staff, pleasant locals and a well-run course becoming all the more unusual these days. I'll be back.

Nice views but insane greens.

Started as a single and joined up with another guy on the second tee. Course looked great and pace of play was regular for a weekday morning.

The only gripe was some of the greens were lightning fast. Akin to rolling a ball across a marble floor at a steep angle. In particular the greens at the 1st and 10th (which slope back towards the fairway) were almost impossible to stop a ball whilst putting.

The guy I was playing with suggested this wasn't always the case, but made for a less enjoyable outing to find your putts come straight back to your feet on a steep green 20 times. We both ended up just picking up the ball and walking on which seemed to be what the groups both ahead and behind had done we found out later.

All in all, I would play there again just for the scenic views and well organized course. Guys in the shop were enthusiastic and friendly and certainly made it a nice day out.

Nice course for fast play

Played this course for the first time on a Thursday afternoon. Pretty empty so was able to get around as quickly (or as slowly) as I liked.

Interesting thing to note is that the fairways and green were covered with bird/duck poo. Not a big deal, but found myself walking around to avoid it in addition to it having an adverse affect on putting.

Overall, nice little course which is pretty very fast on a weekday. Would probably visit again.

Quick course if you don't have much time

I pay this course when I am short on time as you can usually get around pretty quickly on a weekday in less than an hour.

The occasional slow players who don't know the concept of letting you play through, but that is to be expected on a municipal short course so no drama.

Nice course but pretty slow

Course was well maintained and easy to play for all levels of golfer. Pretty scenic as well with a Coyote sighting and views of the Observatory. Got stuck behind a few groups in front of us though, so what would normally take one hour took almost 3.
