Ed Oliver Golf Club
Played On 04/14/2017Not Worth the Money
Even given that the course is undergoing repairs/revisions, this course was in poor shape. Tee boxed hard as concrete; rough nearly unplayable for most of the course. New layout places seniors and women at real disadvantage off the tee. On most holes we needed someone to watch for incoming shots from other holes or the range. With greens right next to tee boxes, noise was a factor.

Looks like little or no winter and spring course maintenance....fairways and rough very spotty in places; bunkers and cart paths are rough and rocky.. Some holes really awful...e.g., mid-area on #7.
Layout has great potential -- ideal for planning shot placement. Staff very nice.

Have played here several times over the years. Cart paths unpaved and bone-jarring. The rough is nasty, clumps and bare spots.. Has potential to be a fine short course with interesting layout.

Play this course every time I am at the OBX. Course conditions were very good. Pace of play was great during my first 2 rounds, but 3rd round was slow. This year I noticed some areas of bad grass on a couple of fairways. Bunkers were in great shape. Greens were recently aerated and a tad slow; overall nice roll.
