Disappointed

We tried playing the championship course versus the par 3 course but for whatever reason they were sending everyone off of hole 10. After 1 hole we encountered 2 very old gentlemen in front of us teeing off on hole 11 which is a par 3. After watching as the second person hit 3 balls into the water and then decided to take out his ball retriever to apparently get said balls, knowing we were waiting behind them, we decided to play the par 3 course. It was in less than good shape. The majority of the greens had weeds or winter kill and all of the tee boxes were in tough shape.

Hi, Soofan. Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game. We are glad to see you rated the course conditions and value to be great during your game. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Par-3 Course at Crosswinds Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.

Issues that could be resolved

This course is nestled within a large housing development with beautiful homes. Our guess would be that not a lot of home owners are members as this course is in need of some TLC. The greens on the front nine were almost to the point of being unplayable. We haven’t had any substantial rain in more than a week yet there was water laying on almost every hole. The layout was nice, the staff was friendly, the carts were new. There was no food other than snacks available. Now I remember why we haven’t played it in 5 years.

Needs some TLC

My first comment would be that they either need to put up a new sign for the course closer to the street or they need to trim the trees/bushes at the clubhouse so you can actually see the 2 signs they have before you drive by the place. We paid to play at an 18 hole course but because of flooding on the course within the past few months 8 of the holes were closed so they had you play 10 holes twice. The fairways were decent but the tee boxes need some attention, as in leveling and reseeding. With the snack shack closed, they could have a few beverages and snacks at the starter shack for those of us non-regular players who don't know to get something at the Pro Shop before starting play.

Disappointed

We played this course a few years ago and were so looking forward to playing it again but what a disappointment. The condition of at least 6 greens were actually unplayable. There wasn't even enough grass on them to call it a green. The others were rough and slow. Several tee boxes were bare, multiple sand traps were actually water hazards and a good portion of the ground was either too wet to drive on or, in some cases, dead and brown. Not many people on the course on a beautiful day. Now we know why. It was a waste of money and the course should be taken off GolfNow until it gets proper golf course maintenance.

Should be closed to allow to dry out.

This course was not in very good winter condition. Five holes were walk only and this is a very wide course so, depending on where you hit, there was a lot of walking. Most of the other holes looked good from the cart path but when you actually got onto the grass it was very sparse and muddy, quite difficult to get a good hit off of. Greens were good but the rest of the course was almost too mushy to be played on. Also, check-in person was not too friendly. Not really a good first impression.

Beautiful course.

Beautiful course. Wet in some areas but fun to play as there were several challenging holes and great scenery. Can wait to play it again.

Don't waste your time or money!

This course was, by far, the worst golf course we have ever played. My first clue should have been how cheap it was for 18 holes and a cart. My second clue might have been how filthy the white door was going into the Pro Shop (and I use that term lightly). But when the first hole was a severe dog-leg right (one of 3) and the ground was either weeds or mushy weeds (extremely hard to even tell where the fairway was), it didn't take us long to figure out that we wouldn't be playing our second round on the 9-hole course. Between the 2 of us, we lost 9 balls without even being in the woods. Most of the tee boxes were slanted and some were even void of grass (as in, hitting off of dirt). Don't waste your time or money. There are lots of other courses out there!
