Easier to play for the first time then other courses

They told us in a email before we played about course conditions and it was a great help. The staff did whatever we needed before we went out. The course offered challenging tees for whatever handicap you were. The pace seemed a little slow but we were under 4 1/2 hours. One of the best things was having a ranger come out and offer cold wet towels, that were very much appreciated and a terrific gesture on the clubs part.

Great shape and great views

We have played this course for years and when we come down we make it a point to play it. It was cart path only, but they allow you to drive on the rough. They have a big practice facilitiy to warm up on. I only play the whites and it was enough for what my game is. Play it enough and you can use the hills to your benefit. You have views of the valley from numerous holes and you can see camelback mountain.

Busy Place

They are closing for overseeing next week and it was busy for a Saturday afternoon. My wife and I were paired with two young guns who were playing the tips. It started off a little slow but we were done in about 4 hours. The staff was great when we were ready to go and got us cups of water with ice in it. There was lots of water on the course and it was cold. They had a driving range, putting green and a chipping and bunker area. It is worth the drive if you are willing to take the chance. The carts have new gps and are pretty good compared to some places.

What’s wrong with this GPS

Got there early and the driving range was closed so we went out right away. There were a couple of holes where
the ground was under repair before the greens. That was not a problem, our biggest concern was the cart gps. The graphics were like a bad video game. The distances took forever to get close to what they really were and to show where the flags where. I had my own gps, but did not take it because they were on the carts. I would play either course again, but would avoid using there gps because it would only push my handicap further up then what I am playing at.

I love this course

We always enjoy playing here. The only negative was the pace slowed on the back nine. We were told at the start that they didn't have a lot of staff on course when it wasn't busy and no one to monitor the pace of play. The course was in great shape and scenic. Lewiston is a lovely town to visit.

Hang on to your hat

We got a hot deal to play the course, because we think it is normally over priced for the area. The staff was great and got us out early and water was available on the first tee if we wanted it. The only course we know of down here that does this. The course was in good shape and no standing water anywhere after last weeks big rain. But it was WINDY, every time you were hitting in to it you needed more club than you thought, the flags were almost touching the ground in a couple of cases. My playing partner and I ended playing the silver on the back on the par 5's and the par 3's. We the think the whites at 5750 is a little short and the silver at 6400 is a bit long, 6000 would be a good number to play. Don't know if it is possible or not, some courses in the states have composite tees you play whites for the fours and fives and the blues for the par 3's.
