The clubhouse, parking lot, bag drop situation is awkward. Clubhouse staff was OK but the starter(s) were just in a hurry to push me to the first tee (even though I was there early). The first one instructed me to put my bag on "one of those carts up there and go to the first tee". At the first tee, I still waited about 15 minutes for the rest of my group (while I could have at least been on the putting green). The 2nd starter made me move my clubs to another cart rather than have 2 players in 2 carts. I get that, but it shouldn't have happened the way it did. Neither of the starters got a tip.

The course has a challenging but enjoyable layout with lots of water and large live oaks full of Spanish moss. Many areas, especially near the greens were muddy even though there hadn't been much rain recently. Cart paths are in need of repair. Bunkers need sand and possibly deeper work. Fairways were playable. The rough was ok except near the greens where it was spotty and mostly weeds. Greens were not in good shape. I've played here before and I'll play here again because I won't contribute to the believe that $100+ is a reasonable price to charge for a round of golf.

I was told the course was in better condition until a new owner made a bad decision regarding caring for the greens. So the future depends on the owner spending the money to properly care for the course. Otherwise the course length and layout is good. Lots of water but I only found it once. Bunkers were passable but the greens were horrible.

From the parking lot to the the first tee, everything was nice but not over the top. Staff was friendly and helpful. The course has a good layout, and provides a good challenge without being gimmicky. Six sets of tees should accommodate any golfer. The condition was great considering it was December in New Bern. Greens were firm, yet still held shots reasonably and were smooth putting.

The rest of the course was in very good shape but the greens were not. They were inconsistent. Some OK, some almost gone, some recently punched, some fast some slow.

The course is relatively old but remains in good condition and enjoyable to play.

Maybe this will offset some of the weaker reviews from earlier this year. I found the greens, fairways and tee areas to be in great shape. Due to recent rains they seemed a little behind on cutting the rough. The sand in the bunkers was a little inconsistent. There's nothing wrong with the layout. So it's flat, we're at the beach, what would you expect. It's well worth playing, especially for the price.

A good round of golf for the price. The greens held decently and rolled well for bermuda. A fair amount of water, fairway bunkers, one or two layup holes and some variety in length of par 3's.

I've played here a few times in recent years. This was the worst condition I've seen the course. Fairways, tee boxes, bunkers were tolerable but the greens were horrible. Maybe they will turn it around but it gives the appearance of a course that's on the way out.

This is a good choice compared with other more expensive courses in the area. It is next to a small airport and there's a constant flow of planes taking off and landing. You get used to that and some are interesting to watch.

I can only assume that playing on the weekend (Sunday) contributed to the 5 1/2 hour round. I would try again during the week and would recommend to others.
