Speaking of the west course here - place is in great shape. They left it closed all winter and it shows. The rough is rough !!! Hit the fairway or be prepared for a penalty punch out. 1st cut is friendlier and greens are rolling true not fast but rolling smooth. I like this place and keep it in regular rotation. The golf shop staff can be a little rough around the edges sometimes and ya can get paired with a mixed bag of golfers but that’s public golf post pandemic. Live, love and play away. See you soon n the fairway. Golf now should pay green fees for reviews like this !

The greens are the best thing this course has going for it. Very much target golf. The par 3s are all nice. The layout flow is a little weird not a friendly walk. Not worth the money. 14th hole is a joke. Would take a year of being closed and moving some major land around to make it work and worth returning. Take the time and book Callippe much better course same price. Lamest course I played on the whole Bay Area golf trip 6+ rounds. The dysfunction at the bridges starts at the driving range. Round was fine. Course is in good shape. The staff is overwhelmed and didn’t get it when I told the guy in the pro shop at check in the other guy wasn’t coming. There was a crowd 5 deep of anxious golfers trying to get out and the pro shop staff could barely handle it. The. I did them a favor by joining up with 3 ball in front of me at 10.44 so they could have the cart back doing them a “big favor” according to the starter. Yet I’m still charged $55. Help me help you. Jeeeze. Won’t be returning anytime soon. Maybe ever. Thanks for nothing.

Narrow. Hit em straight. You will be okay. Beware of arrant drivers from 8th hole when you are teeing off/early walk of 2nd hole. Can be unruly and dangerous at times. Staff is laid back an as it should be. Visit every time I visit NorCal.

The course is usually a nice treat and cool lap - I regularly play green knoll and look at Warren as the little brother. As of 4/19 Warren needs serious landscape detail. Leaves and broken branches everywhere, needs a mowing as well and the greens are growing back from recent aeration. On top of that coming around 14 we got sandwiched in their Monday league play which threw off the rest of the round as we had previously been alone which made the day worth it despite the ratty conditions. Won’t be back for another few weeks - give the staff sometime to sort the maintenance out.

Green Knoll offers supreme spring golf at this moment. Greens are smooth and rolling true and are faster than they look. Fairways green and dry. Some bunkers could use a bit more of the good good soft sand but isn’t a problem if ya don’t go in em’. Always have a good lap here even tho the course usually prevails I will continue coming back again and again.

Gaylord is a lord. Unique links style course. Be accurate or be prepared to pay. Bunkers are dialed if you end up in them soft and nice. Greens are in great shape - Fast and smooth but very true. Nice risk/reward options on front and back. Holes 3, 4, 5 combo are a treat and will keep ya lively. Love the back 9 as well. If you love golf and are in Nashville play here.

Francis A. Byrne is a gem for its proximity to the city. It’s late spring early summer conditions show the staff and maintenance crew have been upholding very high standards even through Covid and the socio-political dumpster fire we are in. Hackers need to replace their divots in fairways and ballmarks on the greens but otherwise the place has resemblance and feeling of a private club. The course layout favors the cool nature and deer families that really take you out of the day to day and let you enjoy the round. Hats off to the Francis A. Byrne staff. See next week!

Beautiful course for a round of slight destination golf from the city. Open views and landscape with rolling hills and lush greens. Great course design/layout with a variety of challenges and risk/reward. Mind-changing rolls and obstacles/hazards throughout the 18. Greens were fast and deceptive yet scoreable too, greens playing the best corona hole set up with plastic donut in the middle so you can actually sink putts no crap raised cups. Looking forward to playing in less windy (slight wind burned face) and regular non-virus times to enjoy a proper pint at 19. Pretty sure walking only so be sure to check as Cart golf isn't an option. Friendly well-prepared staff. Golf Now app continues to have misleading booking regarding carts/hot deals/restrictions. Many courses not providing what Golf Now books.

Weather broke perfectly. Staff super conscious and prepared. Played the back 9 first then front. Greg the starter super cool. Course is very green, was wet from a brief morning rain. If you live within 2 hours it’s worth it. Catch a deal. I carted but lots of people walking as well. Will be back to try the Player side soon. Thank YOU Lyman Orchards!!!!

Nice rains last night had the fairways in nice playing conditions, a little sloppy in some parts. Greens superb for this time of year. People need to fix their divots! This is the best $19.00 round you will find anywhere.

Course is a challenging par 70 plenty of variety but nice flow too. Totally walkable. The greens make you earn par. $44 cart included not a bad deal to be playing in mid Jan.

First off I don’t play speed golf, let alone speed golf with people that play this course regularly. It ruined the round for me and by the 3rd hole I should have let them go ahead and hung back and finished the round alone. Live and learn. That being said Preakness valley is in great shape. West course is far superior then the East. If you are within 40minutes and can find a deal well worth it. Staff is always friendly and accommodating while the 19th hole patio is open and beers are cold. Having finished 18 in 3 hours was laughable to me and I was heated to say the least so the cold ones really helped.

Course is in very nice spring conditions. Easy on the eyes and balls roll true. Greens plushy soft yet fast and sensitive. Was unable to finish the lap due to police shutdown of the surrounding park. Don’t play after 4 if you want to finish the round. Weequahic local gem.

Great greens make it hard to score. Cool dunelike bunkers and hills looks a bit desert dystopia. Easy to find stray balls. Sand traps had good sand especially for this time of year. Enough charm and upkeep not to be a dawg track. Always nice to par the last 2 holes.

Course is a great practice facility to play regularly and hone your skills. Greens are in good shape. Some tee boxes could use love. Better to walk than cart. Play on weekdays on the earlier side to avoid crowds.

Interesting mix of open fairways, with tight tee offs blended in, water hazards and large greens. Overall a nice rhythm to the course and consistency in design. Grass this time of year was perfect. Tee boxes better than most greens at NY munis. Leaves can hide your balls so hit a provisional if you don’t wanna poke around.

Excellent choice for walking 18 if in the area. Nice wide forgiving fairways. Tricky par 3s. Fast hard packed greens.
