Yesterday was as quite golf outing as usual here, except for some Navy planes hovering around the sky. Nice weather, ok pace and decent course condition, had fun so I will revisit here.

I've played this course quite often, sometimes the Kikuyu tee box and fairway are left too thick. Yesterday they trimmed shorter on most of the tee boxes and fairways, nice!

It took roughly 3 hours to finish front nine, 3 hours and 45 minutes after 11th hole. Way to slow, it takes every hole waiting and waiting. Perhaps weekday plays might be Ok, but definitively not yesterday which is Sunday.

Can you imagine, it takes more than three hours and 15 mins. only to finish front nine in a non holiday Tuesday afternoon? What a terrible pace we had to stuck in the thick thing of every holes in the course. And the marshal hasn't able to control the extreme slow pace of the flow, no way to see him when we need him, really disappointed.

Played this muni course again by myself in a twosome yesterday with a bargain afternoon Hot Deal, met with a friendly pro-shop staff. Course was wide open at the time of play, so the pace of play was phenom. Course condition has been great thru out the tee boxes, fairways and greens, like I have said before, Rio Hondo Golf Course is a jewel in the heart of Los Angeles, great muni course owned by City of Downey.

Golfers can spent ~$20 for an weekday afternoon round of golf here by walking. Not seeing very well maintained fairways or tee boxes on the course, but it has pretty decent greens. I've been playing here since late 80's, love this course for it's affordability and convenience. Friendly pro shop staffs also is a plus. Good price for enjoy a round of golfing with my buddies here, it's not bad.

It has been over one and half year or so since last time I played this course with my buddies. Got a good price this afternoon, so decided to give it a run.Pretty much like course conditions, excellent tee boxes from 1st to 18th, nice Bermuda fairways. Greens are still recovering from aerification.

But the pace of play was as slow as you could imagine, it took about 5 hrs and 40 minutes to finish a Friday afternoon round. And there is no course marshal to be spotted on the course to regulate the flow of plays, or mandate the course rules.

I would probably recommend this course to my buddies on Mondays-Thursdays only, definitively not Fridays. Weekends might be even tougher to finish a round under 6 hrs?

Got tee time at 1:15 pm but teed off ten minutes before 2 pm, heard a guy behind our group shouting he was here at 11 am and still got no tee off at 1:50 pm. huge mess by the starter, I've played this course quite a lot but never seen like this. It will scare off 1st timers from this course.

Fairly nice conditions around the course, moderate difficult setup, good price for weekend play.

I think this is a tough course for average golfers. Although the golf course scene is great but the course presents challenging task for golfers with medium to high handicap.

Give this course a try and see how you guys fare, price seems good for weekend round. We paid $44 + $2.49 (booking fee) per person on Sunday mid-noon tee time.

Good golf course, well maintained. Did not complete 18 holes with a 2PM tee time in early August. It took over four and half hours just to finish 15th hole in the Friday afternoon.
