Shadow Mountain Golf course would be rated as a municipal golf course here in Calgary. The fairways are very close together and very close to houses on several holes, which makes it quite difficult if you cannot shoot strait. Several greens are situates right next to tee boxes as well. For the price we paid ( 59.00 ) I am not sure I would come back. We played much more interesting golf courses for less money.

This golf course is in real good condition after over seeding. Carts are still not allowed on the fairways, but that is ok. Pace of play was right on the money.

Course was in great shape, layout awesome, but 5 hours to play is excessive.

Front 9 holes South were in very good shape after overseeding, the back 9 holes North were quite dry but this nine has not been over seeded yet. The South nine is amongst housing, but not really in play much. Only one of us came near a home. The back nine was challenging as fairways went back and forth through a deep wash, but interesting all the same. We would come back here to play

The greens were shaggy and spotty for most of the greens, fairways were ok.
This could be a really nice golf course if it got some needed attention.
We played for 50 bucks so the value for the money was real good, but I would gladly pay 75 or 80 bucks if it were in better condition.

Course was in very good condition after overseeing. Greens were pretty true. They need a few trees at the tee boxes to afford a little shade now and then.

The course was in real good shape, greens smooth and true. The only draw back was cart path only so we had to do a lot of walking in the heat 91 degrees. Otherwise very good.

The course was in pretty good condition overall,however, the greens were a little shaggy compared to every other course we played. We were surprised that there are no ball washers at the tees, nor on the carts.

The course was in very good condition Nov 17, 2018. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was a little slow but it was a Saturday when we played.

Greens are in awesome condition, fairways are good in 2018. Mountains are in view on many holes. Great course, very friendly staff and reasonably priced. Short drive from South Calgary, Okotoks, or High River. Deer, Moose, Owls and Fox are often seen around the course.

This golf course should be played at least once by everybody. The elevation changes and strategically placed hazards have produced a challenging yet very playable and interesting golf course. We did play with a local so we’re able to take advantage of local knowledge but even without that we would come back to play it again, no question.

The course was in very good condition, very playable, especially for the ladies. Houses were close to the course but not really in the way for us. Greens were true... sand was hard though. Staff was friendly.

Although we played shortly after reseeding, thin golf course was in fantastic condition. Greens and fairways were in great shape. We believe they were not booking a lot of tee times, because we felt like we had the course to ourselves. Besides that the course was found to be challenging yet very playable. I did find the par 3’s to be the biggest challenge from the blue tees. Staff were very friendly but not overbearing, awesome for us....

The staff we encountered had zero personality or sense of humour. They were very short with us regarding cart return, bag drop etc. The greens were very slow, having said that they were recently reseeded, having said that all other courses we played were reasonable. We teed off 25 minutes after our booked time. Then there were soccer players doing a game on the course in front of us for the front nine. Nobody explained the concept to us, or the soccer players for that matter. Very confusing.... not an enjoyable experience at all. We will not be back.

We found there were several tee boxes where you felt you could get hit from an errant approach shot into the prior green.

The Dunes has been open a short time after overseeing operations but was in excellent condition. Bermuda rough was difficult for us as we do not see this in Calgary. Greens were in great shape. Course looks fairly easy but can gobble you up quickly.

The golf course itself has a lot of potential, lots of good views - especially on the back nine. But many holes have houses too close to the fairways. Some have many bruises visible from repair jobs. Pace of play was deplorable. Tee time was 10:00 am on a Sunday and we finished at 3:00 pm.... Way too long! Stopped at the restaurant after nine holes to pick up lunch - but - everything is made to order, even sandwiches. They should have reasonable food options that golfers can pick up on the way bye.

Fairways were in good condition, just after over seeding. Found that some fairways were close to others, so beware of errant shots.
Most holes were fairly basic, needs a tree or two to add some flair.

Greens were running decent, but a few were slower than most.

Good value for the money.

More trouble on the back where the "lakes" are, but good shots will keep you out of trouble. Pace of play was very good and staff were very friendly. Best burger I've had in a long time. Fairways were in great shape as were the greens, but they were found to be slow. Might be from the new grass ( over seeding ).

Very nice golf course. Exceptional layout away from houses. Enough trouble to keep it interesting. Greens were in good condition for January. Fast.
