this Course, from the tips, is one of the best in the northwest suburbs. It's got elevation changes, enough length to hang with the best courses, good green complexes etc.

only complaint, which I admit is always a tough one because it can be very situational, was the 5+hour round. we quit on 15 because there were 2 groups on the tee when we showed up. 7 minute tee times is not the best idea but that can be worked out, they had some big outing and it was a disaster for all who were behind it.

Look, it's a good facility for the community. And I'm happy to play courses like this to support them. But it's not 4 stars. It's really just a par three course, with 4 or five of the par threes just throw ins because they are under 100 yards. The greens are excellent, but everything around them is burned out grass. If you want to practice your half wedges it's a good place to go.

We had a great ranger working the course hard. It could have been a disaster round; there was a group 1 hole behind after 3 holes, but he manged the situation and we played in 4 hours and 5 minutes.

Mature trees, well maintained and great staff - what's not to like.

Reminds of medinah 3 on both good and slightly negative ways. The good: the holes are well framed by trees and for the most part there are no houses in view during the round. On the negative side, like medina, there is a sameness to every hole. I played the tips and most of the par 4's are just longish straight ahead holes. I think 14 9f the holes run north-south. That said, it's a great public track.

Golf is in trouble! We golfers, who love the game, have to do everything we can to protect great assets like harborside. The weather, the disinterest from the millennials etc are a toxic mix threatening the economic viability of Chicago golf (how long will the city absorb the losses). To the courses I say, think out of the box! Promote free ride alongs (bring the wife, grandma or kids out with you for a fun 9 after 5). Anything to get people out. Wine and 9 and more. Start a nonprofit course maintenance volunteer program. Think! We are in deep trouble.

really interesting course. "pro" style greens. You must hit to the proper tier or you are looking at a three put.

Hey, this course was redesigned and they did a great job. It's just growing out but you can play it and enjoy it. Let's support communities that put the effort into upgrading their facilities, or we are going to lose all the good golf courses. That said, a guy i was playing with was comparing the greens fees of this course to other upscale courses unfavourable. It looks like there is a lot of chatter on the net about the rack rate green fees. I don't know if the demographics of this area match up with the pricing model. We'll see.

Hey, this is a really good course. To be honest, they are having a few problems with their bunkers; but every course in Chicago is having the same problem because of the amount of rain we've had. Greens are very good, unless the pinheads in front of you don't fix their ball marks (which they don't everywhere).

so get out and support this course. All the golf courses are challenged economically because of the U.S's. shifting demographics . The courses need us!

This is a great course and the people are also great. The only problem is the punishment these greens take. I play some courses where no matter how hot I hit the green i produce only a slight disturbance to the green's surface. Unfortunately this course's greens yield huge ball marks when a shot comes into them properly. This problem is not unique to this course, so it's something that all people who love golf have to figure out how to help mitigate.

It's really difficult to find good greens nowadays. You'll find them here! They are firm, which makes it difficult for the idiots who don't fix their ball marks to wreak them.

Here is the thing. It's a great course, but the severe slope in the greens can cause the pin placements to get a little silly. My partner hit two great shots on a hole (10 feet pin high) and tries to lag for a two put - no chance, he three putted.
