Phoenix Golf Links
Played On 8/11/2013Decent track
Long course with alot of heather and some blind tee shots. Nice fairways. Almost all of the bunkers are unplayable and unmaintained which is unfortunate because there are a TON of bunkers. Most parts of the course are in decent shape, some muddy spots here and there and grass bunkers that have filled up with water/waste(used to be a landfill). Not a bad course, pretty challenging and at a good price. Great views of downtown.

The greens are absolutely awful. Practice putting green was in horrible shape and it speaks for the whole course. Black spots and very little grass one every single green(before aerification and guy playing with us said it's always like this.) Difficult course that requires long accurate tee shots to play around all the dog legs on this course. Staff was very rude, apparently golfnow.com allowed them to overbook for a certain tee time, so they were very rude/pushy and there was quite a wait on the first few holes while the membership teed off on the other 9 with no wait. Made the turn and was told to "pick up the pace" even though we were 2 holes ahead of the next nearest group and the group in front of us were in the clubhouse having lunch?? This place is in pretty poor shape, you're paying for the fact that its on the island and the Nicklaus name.

Average course, really paying for the fact that its "private" The fairways are horrid, some combination of bermuda and patchy rough grass. Greens could use some work. Short course made challenging by the doglegs and small/sloped greens. Not many straight putts here. The heather is the thickest i've seen and the intermediate rough is basically long grass that doesnt get mowed, potential to lose a ton of balls if you dont pay attention to where it went. Would play here again but think the price is steep. Would rather play Heritage Hill or Nevelmeade instead for the same price.

This course was in absolute perfect shape for the middle of April. $30 dollars with cart for the best public course in the Louisville area is hard to beat. Challenging course with a few tee shots that can be misleading. Great links style course with in cart GPS. Friendly staff.
