Great layout in excellent condition except rough jut off the fairway was a bit too long. If the ball nestled down you couldn’t see is as the grass was higher than the ball. Staff was very accommodating, providing a handicap flag, cooler with ice ans 2 bottles of water. Beverage cart girl was very friendly as well.

Arrived early for our tee time. I had booked a threesome but was told I had a foursome all in my name. Told staff that was incorrect but they didn’t seem interested. Insisted we ride two in a cart OR PAY A $10 UPCHARGE!!! Spoke to the manager and he just kept repeating “it’s our policy”. Front nine was closed and we had to play the back twice. I asked if we could go out early but we’re told we had to wait until our tee time to allow golfers to make the turn but we didn’t see any any evidence of that. Also , every golfer we saw was one in a cart. I asked if they all paid the upcharge and they all said no. My friend and I were the only ones on the course that were doubled up. Around our tee time I asked if the “fourth” had arrived and he said no, but a fifth(?) had arrived. When asked how we could have a 5th when there was no 4th I was told he actually had the tee time after us and was already sent out even though we had been waiting over 30 minutes. In light of all this I asked again for a separate cart and. was told by the manager “If you don’t mind, I’m in a meeting”! I found the manager’s attitude totally unwilling to appease the customer even after mishandling our booking. The course was in mediocre condition although I do like the layout but it will likely be a while before I return there.

I have played here several times. Love the layout, lots of interesting holes. Course is in pretty good condition, greens are a bit slow, tee boxes could use some attention but overall an enjoyable round!

The course was as expected, nice layout but has seen better conditions. I had a 12:08 tee time and arrived at the course at 11:30 only to be told by the clubhouse attendant (David, I think) that I could not have a cart and to come back in 20 minutes. I said this has never been the case and he said it has always been the rule and tried to show me a laminated paper, which I refused to read. There was literally no one on the tee or waiting to tee off and several carts were available. Apparently we were being held to wait for two singles to go out at the same time. This was verified by the singles as well. After the round we tried to get a drink in the lounge but the carpet was being cleaned and the lounge was closed. However, the waitress (Linda) was just about to leave and insisted on getting us drinks and cups of ice even though she was probably off the clock which we thought was extremely nice of her. Amazing contrast in perception of customer service. Thank you, Linda!

A great layout. Many moguls and can be difficult to find level lies. Fairways and greens in good shape Sandtraps are soft dirt but playable. Good value for the price. Will play again.

Good layout, friendly staff but batten spots in fairways and tee boxes. Staff advised me their last reseed didn’t take. Would play here again, hopefully the grass issue gets resolved.

Course overall in good shape. Traps appear to have new sand. Greens rolling well. Pace of play slow despite ranger’s efforts to create foursomes. Staff friendly, especially the restaurant. Course plays tough as fairways are crested and tend to roll off left or right (probably for drainage) and greens are elevated and roll off in every direction. But overall a good challenge at a fair price.

A challenging layout made unnecessarily more difficult by poor conditions. Tee boxes sparse, especially on par 3s where irons are hit.. Greens have barren spots. Fairways are hard and dry. Due to the geography of the course this causes balls hit in the fairway to roll off left or right. Areas around the greens are dry and sparse, chipping is difficult, better off running the ball with a hybrid. Water hazards are heavy with algae. I hope conditions improve.

Course was in good shape. Some wet areas, must have had heavy rain the night before but not cart path only. Greens were in good shape but a tad slow, maybe couldn't be cut because of the recent rain(?). Challenging layout, lots of water, some holes have a narrow landing area but all in all definitely worth the 50 minute drive. I wish it was closer.

I have been playing Mayfair on and off over the last 20 years. It's convenient and an interesting layout but I have learned to expect not-great conditions. This time I found the course to be in the best shape I have ever seen it. Obvious signs of improvement and continuing work being done. Still some rough areas but definitely playable! Glad to see the improvements!

After reading some of the reviews I almost decided not to come but I thought I’d check it out for myself. Yes, the course needs some work but the staff has done well to maintain playability of this course. Lies in the fairways were good, tee boxes are over seeded, greens have weed patches but rolled well. This is a challenging layout with a lot of water but with the right choice of tee box you can have a fun round and use most clubs in your bag. Peter in the pro shop and grill was friendly and efficient.

Course is in relatively good shape. You can get a goo lie in most fairways, some greens have some dry patches and overall are a tad slow. Overall the course is very playable and layout is a good challenge.

Fairways in good shape. Greens recovering from aeration, rolled good but still a bit bumpy which is why I didn’t rate it 5 stars. But still a good layout, variety of holes, challenging but fair. Can’t wait til the greens fill out.

I have played this course many times over the last 20 yrs and this may be the best condition I have seen. Greens, fairways, tee boxes all in good shape. Love Crater Junction challenge. Definitely a unique layout. Worth a trip.

I have been playing here on and off for over 20 years. The course right now is in poor condition. Tee boxes are barren, you have a hard time finding a decent spot to place your tee. Greens have weed patches and dried out areas. Tee boxes on par 3’s have no grass, just green dirt. Areas around greens are dry and make chipping difficult. Fairways are a mixture of weeds and grass, very uneven. I was very disappointed to see these conditions. I was a member here for 5 years and the course was in better shape. Hate to see it this way since it is convenient and close to home. Restaurant has been good for awhile, good food, and reasonable. Hoping conditions will improve but looks like it may take awhile.

Staff = 10. Beverage cart = 10. Fairways = 10. Restaurant = 10. Tee boxes and greens = 5. Pace of play a little slow. Need a ranger on the course. Overall we had an enjoyable round of golf.

Great layout although by the end of the day you will be tired of uphill/downhill/side hill lies. Good mixture of short/long holes. Great conditions- not a bad lie all day except for hills. I don't like the extra charge for the cart GPS especially if you are not advised up front. But overall a good play. Will play here again.

Interesting layout. Very hilly for a Florida course. The elevations make some holes play longer than indicated. Course in good shape considering the recent drought. Greens were a little slow but playable. This is a great choice. I have played here before and will play here again.

A little out of the way for me but well worth the drive. The course appears wide open but plays narrower due to position of traps, water, etc. Terrific layout, great conditions. Very impressive grounds, a true country club presentation. Excellent value! I highly recommend this course if you are anywhere nearby!

Considering how dry this area has been this course is in excellent condition. The greens roll true a quick but there are some weedy spots. Overall it was an excellent play.
